8th Ed. Lizardmen End Times Rumor from Warseer

There is another possibility I saw last night....

Archibald_TK on warseer mentioned he's seen the full time line for the ET.
Apparently

"- Second, and that's the interesting thing that I'm sure will make everyone react in a way or another.
I was rereading the chronology of ET in the WD (and as I expected there were some Skaven action that I missed at early dates, also know that the battle of Altdorf, Itza, Middenheim, Karaz-a-Karak all happen after Ultuan sinks. So KF didn't receive his power at the same time the Vortex collapsed). On the pages you can see some prophecies from the ET books, and at the end one from the Thanquol book... and that is the interesting one."

And...

"- The WD presents a lot of ET events in chronological order, from beginning to now, but in only a few lines each. The ET is separated in different periods, this is where I got the info about the Dwarfs and the LM.
- There was far too much for me to find the time to read everything so I just looked at the very last events. Meaning that whatever happens before, the big picture, I have no idea.
- I seem to remember that the events of Itza, Karaz-a-Karak and Middenheim happen after the sinking of Ulthuan. speaking of that...
- I totally forgot but there is about to be a great battle at Middenheim between Empire and Chaos that apparently will play an important part in shaping future events."

So Karl Franz did not get the Lore of heavens...someone else of a "beneficent nature" did... probably not a Dwarf given the Dwarves, though good, could never really be described as beneficient and if you're going to have a super powered Dwarf it's going to be Gotrek, although that's because he has Grimnir's Axe and without the ET, he's already essentially become Grimnir.

Could be one of the Lizardmen (although heavy on the speculation).

little bit worried that we are not getting an endtimes character. Lots of snipets coming out but no info on any lizard character yet. It could be that they are not mentioned in white dwarf and we have to wait til someone gets the book early

So KF didn't receive his power at the same time the Vortex collapsed).

That doesn't mean KF didn't receive Heavens, more that there could've been a delay - as expected with the other rogue Winds of Magic. The 'alien and familiar presence' that handled Heavens could easily have been Sigmar.

Still, it gives hope that Tetto'Ekko might be an Avatar, even if I do prefer it to be Tehenhuain.

little bit worried that we are not getting an endtimes character.

It's always the characters with models that get most of the initial limelight: KF ascended didn't really come forward till close to the Glottkin's book release, and other non-model characters didn't appear on the web until after their respective book was released (Festus Empowered, Alarielle: Avatar of Life, for example).

I'd be surprised if they did *nothing* with LM, after every core faction featured in each book has received some rules.

Lizardmen army will be vanished in the sky.

Don't expect anything glorious in Thanquol.
Maybe in the last book Lizards make some appearance but I doubt it. But in this one Lustria is abandoned/vanquished.

There are high chances for lizardmen to become out of scope by GW.

In any case I will continue to play Lizardmens in my local club, and will not start another army. Brettonian players are nice example of "how to play your favourite army without any support in a few years".

but sadly not

"how to play your favorite army without any support without being absolutely frustrated in a few years"

Most funny thing - my girlfriend started her WH army about a half year ago. It's Brettonian army. %)

We've already decided to continue with LM in the new edition (if LM aren't carried forward - let's not get too ahead of ourselves). Still, that won't stop it being a little disheartening every-time my competitor's armies get updated..

Round bases?

That seems incredibly unrealistic/impractical.

To be honest, I'll either just stick with 8th or even 6th edition fantasy, far more enjoyable, or better yet move to another fantasy based war game system.

EDIT:

Looks like Itza being levelled with warpstone meteors was fairly accurate.

If Lizardmen are discontinued I'll be done. It's the only army I play and the reason I got into Warhammer in the first place. I'll move to another system and not give GW a dime. Ever.

Where did you get that image from?

In my mind it was much more of a catastrophic, pummeling that instantly ruined Itza. Seeing a battle occuring at the same time gives hope there are survivors xp

@Slanputin
It was in the large end times thread on warseer, sneak peaks from the next WD, mainly Bone ripper photos, but that one was in there too.

I feel rather dense for only just realising that in the back ground there, you can quite plainly see a temple city taking off (whilst I'm assuming the lizardmen in the artwork are buying time).

Stargate anyone? Is it just me or does that Stegadon look an awful lot like kurt Russell?

Ah, you're right! I assumed it was some ruinous Skaven magic. So our speculation was correct ;p

That has excited me ( until the point LM *might* disappear anyway). Makes me feel for the LM valiantly staying behind though... :depressed:

Quite right the similarity is uncanny. :D

Do we agree that there is 6 spikes on the chair of the Carnosaur?
If so, that is (probably) Kroq-Gahr :/

Edit: nevermind. It only indicates "oldblood"..... and he wasnt in Itza to begin with..

Whoops! Wrong thread. :p

I think you were right the first time.

At least according to the product description for Kroq-Gar and Carnosaur on the GW site, three tusks (6 spikes) indicates Kroq-Gar, two tusks indicates Old Blood, and one tusk indicates Scar Vet.
