Hi all,
I dislike the current trend of taking 3 buffed infantry blocks and shuffle them across the board without much planning.
What I do like are lists that can still compete without using the above statement.
With that said, I'd like to present you my army list and battle plan:
Lords:
Slann: 290 pts (Focused Rumination, Plaque of Tepok) not sure which lore, I'm currently thinking Fire
Heroes:
Tetto Eko: 255 pts.
Scar Veteran: 133 pts. (BSB, Light Armour, Shield, Banner of Swiftness)
Core:
29 Warriors: 390 pts (Spears, Full Command
30 Skinks: 352 pts (3 Kroxigor, Full Command)
10 Skink Skirmishers: 70 pts.
10 Skink Skirmishers: 70 pts.
Special:
5 Cold One Riders: 175 pts.
Rare
Ancient Stegadon: 275 pts.
With deployment I start by placing the skirmishers. After that I pick a particular flank, based on the terrain I pick the one where the enemy has difficulty outflanking me. I'll call this flank A.
Now comes the fun part, I place the block of saurus on the other side: flank B. The enemy will likely place their big blocks and hard hitters across the board facing the Warriors.
The rest of the deployment will depend on the enemy and where he places the rest of his army.
Now I use the special rule 'Eye of the Old Ones' granted by Tetto Eko, which lets me re-deploy d3 units, so at least one. I use this to place the Warrior unit to Flank A, where I'll have the upper hand.
In the first turn I'll cast Comet of Cassandora right in front of the bulk of the enemy (don't forget, any double will make the spell an irrisistable force)
The bulk of the enemy's army will have to redeploy, right in the danger zone of the Comet. The Slann will probably be able to cast some damage spells, causing even more damage.
Hopefully the Warriors can take on the flank I redeployd them in, if they can, it means the bulk of the enemy's army will horribly out position while taking damage from the comet and the Slann.
What do you think?
