7th Ed. Lizardmen 1000 Point army

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and warhammer for that fact and I have decided to use lizardmen as my army.
I have researched possible army lists and have come up with my own however I would just like to point out
that I already have (in possession) 16 saurus warriors with spears and a skink priest so i would like to
include them somehow into my future army.

Here we go:

Saurus Scar- Vet(139 pts)
-light armor
-spear
-BS Itzl
-Cold One
-shield
-BS Sotek

Skink Priest(135 pts)
-level 2 Wiz
-diadem of power

Skink Skirmishers x 10(60 pts)
-Blowpipes

Skink Skirmishers x10(60 pts)
-Shields & Javelins

Saurus Warriors x16(236 pts)
-spears
-musician
-standard Bearer

Kroxigors x 3(174 pts)

Salamander Hunting Packs x3(195 pts)

Plz comment and help me improve it.

Like the list.

For some added fun you could turn your Scar veteran into a BSB, give him a banner of huanchi, and put him into your kroxies. They can now get the charge off even on cavalry . You can drop the sotek on the scar veteran then as it is usually overkill. If he is going alone, a JSOD would probably be a better build as he has a larger LOS (360 as opposed to 180), can move faster, and is unhindered by terrain.

Either drop the spears or boost the Saurus to 20. Besides the fact that I recommend never to use spears, spears are no benefit on the charge. As you will be more inclined to receive charges with this unit, a full strength unit of 20 would be a better idea. Dont forget that your rank has to be 5 wide in order to get a rank bonus.

I like the idea of BSB sar vet and I will check out how it fares when I get a game going.
The problem I'm facing now is that I'v already assembled my troops with spears. Maybe I
could just pretent that they are normal weapons or should just raise their numbers. Is there
a way to buy 4 extra saurus warriors without footing out money on a unit of 16?(I'm cheap)

Also I have read on the forums on a new lizzy book + new figures comming out. Should I wait for the book
to come out and construct the updated list or go with what I've made? I still need to purchase the
majority of my army.

The main thing that I would suggest holding off on are the kroxigors. Besides that, there is little chance that they will change many of the core units

I have another suggestion for this list, I notice that there is a unit of skinks with Javs + shields. No need for skinks to use shields imo b/c of the fact that in CC they tend to be speedbumps and rarely can hold their own. Better to play avoidance and whittle the numbers off the enemy with poisoned multishots and leave the close quarters fighting to higher defense, heavier hitting troops. Hope this helps.

Can BSB/General join Kroxis?

a character can join any unit unless that unit has a rule specifically saying you can't like chameleon skinks for example
