AoS Let's talk about nerfs and buffs from 3.0

It should be noted that even if things are overall worse for us, it is better for us to be demoted to an A tier faction than stay an S tier faction. It makes it less likely that our next tome will be a revenge book like Slaanesh

In that sense, a slight overall nerf, is a long-term buff

Things are not overall worse for us in any way. We are different. Only new points can screw up everything.

Sure, but the fact that it is possible is ridiculous.
.
ok lets put this into even better context. you are more likely for the the following to happen then kroak killing himself.
about as likely to die in a automotive accident
about as likely to comit suicide
about as likely to die of general injury
about as likely to die of electrocution
about as likely to finding a four leaf clover
20 times as likely to be audited by the irs
half as likely to die of homicide
half as likely to be struck by lightning
about as likely for a casual player to bowl a perfect game
twice as likely to get a perfect SAT score
100 times more likely to have your car stolen
twice as likely to be hospitalized for food poisoning
1000 times more likely to be illiterate
70 times more likely to be born ambidextrous
7 times more likely to have a double yoked egg
twice as likely for your house to burn down
about as likely to be killed by falling furniture
1000 more likely to become a millionaire
7 times more likely to be born with extra digits
about as likely to die in a mass shooting
being delt a strait flush in poker
so yeah it's kind of messed up that a lot of the above CAN happen but we do not worry or even care about most of them

Comparing to Lumineth and Kharadron which are top méta I also think that we are overall worse than before because it's look like this V3 have been think for them (but it's for the best and people will maybe stop complaining because they can't do anything)

If you compare to fireslayer I agréé with you

Speak for yourself :(

Seriously though, I know that is not a thing one should worry about. I just find funny that it is possible at all. For any other single wizard it is technically impossible to die from perils at full wounds, but still 0.00013% of ancient almighty lord of magic. I got your point.

We were already worse at the end of 2, especially against new lumineth tome. The things is these two armies got better, not that we are worse.

The new command point system seems like a big nerf to us since overall we relied on stacking buffs onto our otherwise mediocre units. Koatl's claw especially, as now the general with the dominant predator command trait is only able to issue a single command ability per phase, as well as Thunder Lizard only being able to use the TL CA once per turn

Your general can issue more than a single command ability per phase, you just can't issue the same command ability multiple times per phase or a unit can't receive multiple per phase.

I think calling some of the nerfs might be premature. But that's only because we don't know how min and max sized units are changing, and how much points are going up.

The priest addition. Just feels like an overall a buff to any army with priests, giving them a reason to be active on the field other than using prayers. Now they can dispel endless spells, have a suite of new prayers, and are just in general more useful.

Starbourne still feels strongest, and that's mostly due to Bravery 10 on all scrolls, allowing hero's to heal more easily on top of the teleport. Summoning also might be stronger too. MSU armies means putting summoned units on the table is more effective, depending on the unit of course. Salamanders at 10 CCP (if these do not change) just went up in value.

Skinks can still get to a 4+ save. Their Shield changes their save characteristics to a 5+. It doesn' give them +1 to save rolls.

Also, don't forget that unit leaders can issue commands to the unit they are part of. Meaning your Skink Alpha can give all out attack to their own unit, ect.

It seems the "Mysterious" terrain rules have reverted back to only the original six types. I reckon this is a little soft buff to Coalesced and Primeval Domain

The faction terrain rules reverting back to old rules is a passive buff to the RSE. It makes it much easier for us to zone a deployment making it hard for an opponent to deploy their faction terrain if they want to deny us ours. Still event specific in how TOs deal with tables and terrain though.

Oh! With endless spells getting so much more usable, people are going to take more of them.

Which means we can steal them with Bind Endless Spell lol

Especially since it is pretty easy to get our skinks knowing multiple spells each now.

That also generally means we have more access to our great skink lore

Yep, Bind Endless spell will be very very useful.
Specially since lots of players will probably be bringing Geminids. Which means we have a good shot of controlling two Geminids :D

Did the Engine of the Gods pick up the priest keyword when they FAQed there was a priest on it that was the actual character? I don't have the app on this device to check. Could be fun to use it to fire off curse.
