Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - March 2019

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

This month I'm aiming for more Trogs and some Nightvault warbands.
 
Lets see I finished my kroxigors, my eyestinger swarms, my goliaths and I am almost done my voidsmen. Maybe Elucia Vhane, poxwalkers or some chameleon skinks for march? Also wouldn't mind building a plastic carnosaur or my second bastiladon while I wait for the weather to get a bit better for primeing.
 
Big issue this month is basing my previous painted miniatures for my personal armies.

After that, I've got some various stuff to paint, finish a commission, and some admech conversions from nighthaunt bodies
 
I got my first box of skinks in the mail - i'd like 10 done and a "final" skink color scheme established. My only other lizard is an old skink I just painted in an experimental scheme, and can be seen as my avatar. Stretch goal is all 24 done! - I wont be buying a single other model until then anyway.
 
Goals:

1) Get balewind vortex to an acceptable state
2) Get a few layers on cogs
3) start/finish starpriest
4) get a healthy start on kroak
 
As of late i can't seem to find the time to paint something
But i would like to set the following goals for march:

- Complete my Scar Veteran atop a Cold One
- Complete 5 Saurus Warriors
- Make some real progress on the Carnosaur

This month I have two goals!
  1. Paint 30 Chaos Warriors with Halberds
  2. Paint a Chaos Warshrine
 
I started 2 Bastiladons but since I do not plan to play them in the the league I will join then I am going to focus in my list, what I need is:
Rebase and repaint some details (scales and javelins) of 20 skinks
Rebase my Starpriest
Rebase and finish the terradons I started some years ago :oops:
 
Batch painting my way through the 30 Chaos Warriors. Finally at the stage where I start to work on them individually and grey scale their armor!
 
Almost done with a starseer and 15 guards. Then I have 20 knights and a scar vet to go.

I also want to paint a priest this month. Almost one year ago I started painting again after a very long break. The first model I did was a priest. Would be fun to do a comparison.

EDIT: Starseer and guards are done. Started on the Scar Vet a couple of days ago. Not sure if I'm going to do the priest. Might be fun but I'd rather work on other stuff in the backlog.

Alright, I failed this last month because I got distracted, but I am challenging myself to knock out the remaining 5 skinks to complete my first unit. This is going to not just be painting, either, but also include basing which I am still getting the hang of. This will be hard because I know I will be tempted to paint my slann or carno instead.
 
Alright, so you may have seen those Maasai shields that I gave to my blowpipe skinks? Well for consistency (and the fact that they look absolutely banger) I'll be updating all of my skinks in the same way, including stripping the original shields off the javelin skinks. The end of this month seems like a reasonable target for it, so let's get cracking with that.

I currently have:
- 10x Blowpipe Skinks with new shields, both fully painted - Done
- 10x Javelin Skinks with old shields fully painted - need new shields
- 10x Javelin Skinks with old shields unpainted - need new shields and painting
- 10x Blowpipe Skinks with no shields unpainted - need new shields and painting

I plan to run these guys in two units of 20, the blowpipe skinks are getting a maroon colour on their shields (see here) and I'm thinking of giving the javelin skinks either a kind of brown/yellow or maybe a blue.

It would be stupid of me to enlist now at the end of the month..
But I've managed to finish 1 stegadon (just some final touches), skink captain, 1 ripper and a unit of 5 chameleons during this month. Everything deserves some details, but is in playable state. Next up - 5 chameleons, 2 rippers.
