Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - July 2018

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Cheers Crowsfoot

Dang it really is July already!

Not sure what I will be painting this month yet, probably some more terrain. Also hoping to get in some actual games before the month is out.

I started an Engine of the Gods this week that still needs a lot of work. After that I'm starting on an Astrolith Bearer.

I was originally planning on finishing both of them this month but I think I have to adjust that to just the EotG. The weather is way too nice to paint a lot:cool:.

I also feel like my painting has also increased quite considerably which in turn increases my standards which increases the time spent per model. I can immagine more of you have experienced this time creep. How do you handle it?

I have a few goals for this month:
  • finish my 22 Empire Knights Panther,
  • finish my Bastiladon
  • finish my Stegadon with EotG
  • Queek Headtaker - :writing:
  • get several more Cold One Riders finished,
  • get a few more Silver Tower models finished - :writing:
  • Random stuff here and there.

Finish my oldhammer slann and my terradon riders.
Work on my Goliath gang and some D&D minis for a friend.

Doesn't help I'll be taking a week away from the minis to go on vaca ;)

Well, since I finished my Saurus cav instead of my Stegadon EotG during June, I will have to pump it out this month, even though I have several vacations/work trips coming...
So I will probably struggle but do my best to finish following:

- Howdah and EotG istelf (already glued together, so it is an exceptional pain)
- Howdah Crew and Skink Priest
- Stegadon (almost finish, few details, accessories and highlights left to be done)
- base the beast
- Saurus cavalry base
- Troglodon base and touchups
- Carnosaur base and reins

(you can see I am being smarter this month as I've split the tasks into smaller tasks so I can actually check something done at the end of the month!)

I like that everyone is setting high goals! I would love to finish:

20-40 more skinks
Slann
Bastiladon

I'm trying to get my 1500 point list painted so I'm no longer the grey army guy :) Good luck everyone!

This thread is a really good idea, this ought to get me working more than just saying "I really should get that done" to myself.
I want to finish the paint on the last 16 odd Skinks from my box.
At least start on my Stegodon and the Engine he will carry.
And it's probably wishful thinking but I would like to get some paint making its way onto my Starmaster.

Soft goal = +31 infantry Miniature equivalency
Stretch goals as dictated.

Currently done this month:

Build and prep for priming:

5 characters

Something like 30 skellies

6 black knights

6 werewolves (commission)

8 barrow wardens (commission)

2 stormcast heroes (commission)...

1 Logan grimnir

I finished my Bounty Huntress, Devastators and Elf Archer last month but there's been a change of plan for this month - instead of making Saurus Warriors, I've been making some Shadow War Armageddon/Necromunda scenery (and it's about time that I started it too - I designed most of it last year!).

My main goal for this month is to just see how much terrain I can make by the end and then I'll show you what I've done.

I finished my Queek Headtaker last night, but I didn't get a chance to take any pictures yet. (Stuff everywhere and I wanted to do a good job of it.)

Let's be honest this month, i got a writer roleplay tournament so it would be difficult to do a lot. But anyway.

Let's paint :
  • 4 more zombies
  • My banshee proxy
  • my fourth baneful seraphim
  • also assemble 10 skeletons warriors
Now about the hobby stories :
  • Translate something on vampirecounts.net
  • Finish stuff i've started last month in french

Last weekend was super busy! I got my two new siege towers done, and then my brother and sister came by to visit, and between his collection and my collection we played a ton of games.

Four space battles of Star Wars X-Wing, two massive games on his custom Catan board, and two epic games of Mordheim with my jungle terrain. We also found some time to do a little hobby modelling work on some old projects, including his warhawk riders as well as me assembling a new treeman to fit in with my Bretonnians!

Also started a new samurai army project.

Not much done this month, very slow with the holidays etc, nearly finished the Endless spells.

I am pretty happy with my progress, pretty much did what I wanted to do, minus a few bases but with one or two additional, unplanned things.
