This is the worst of the bunch. He completely butchered the source material. It was so poorly received (and deservedly so) that they cancelled making the trilogy.

In the EU I do believe he temporarily does fall to the darkside, although I never read the specific story myself.

Kyle Katarn on the Dark Side was bad enough already, and he isn't even close to Luke in power.
So yeah if it was only briefly then the universe was really lucky.
