Kroxigar proxies?

I'm just about to finish painting up the GW Kroxigors, and if I'm honest, I dislike them. I dislike the finecast material as I think it's much harder to work with and the details aren't as sharp as the regular resin models, but I also just generally dislike the appearance of the newer Kroxigars.

Any recommendations for good alternatives (preferably in a decent price range too, I don't want to spend £30 per model)? I saw someone on this forum made some custom Kroxigors that were made for a few people and looked really nice, bit I read he no longer makes those. :/
