Holy shit if that’s right Kroak just became a must have for matched play games.

which is vindication for those of us that read it that way when the 2.0 core rules leaked!! (totally a "nah nah nah I told you so" post lol)

This is just how they play in the office. Regardless, it's a pretty good indication, but I don't think we "technically" have an answer yet.

edit: looks like the design commentary made it official!

lol well yeah that's why they put "not "official"" lol

Yeah. I guess I have to build him now. (Still boxed, and on my table).

BWV or Cogs. Both sound good.

Was hoping Kroak on the balewind wouldn't be what everyone does this edition again. But looks like its hard to say no. I had my Kroak built and somewhat painted. Been working on my Slann, guess I'll need both anyway.

Yeah that's the one thing I don't really like about it. It is a cheese tactic after all.

Christ Almighty... I can't really think of another unit with higher mortal wound potential than Kroak now.

Will the rule of 1 in the generals handbook overide this still ? If not lord kroak will be insane!

It has been confirmed by the designers that it will work. As far as I understood there will be no rules of one in the GHB anymore since those are part of the core rules now.

Hold up, if Celestial Deliverance works this way now, that means Ripperdactyls should be able to keep generating attacks too!

It certainly looks that way. Looks like cheese is back on the menu, boys!

According to this part in the FAQ the Rippers are still the same (although I cpuldnt find the rule reference)

The difference is, the Ripperdactyl warscroll specifically allows for bonus attacks to generate additional attacks:

Voracious Appetite: Each time a
model from this unit attacks with
its Vicious Beak and scores a hit,
immediately make another hit roll
against the same target. Carry on until a
hit roll does not score a hit, then make
any wound rolls.

Compare that to the Scar-Vet on Carnosaur command ability:

Saurian Savagery: The Scar-Veteran
looses an ear-splitting roar that drives
nearby saurus into a frenzy. If the
Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur
uses this ability, pick a SAURUS unit
within 15". Until your next hero phase,
whenever you roll a hit roll of 6 or more
for a model in that unit, that model can
immediately make one additional attack
using the same weapon.

The Scar-Vet warscroll doesn't specifically allow the additional attacks to generate additional attacks, so it can't over-ride the core rules. The Ripperdactly warscroll however does specifically allow for the bonus attacks to generate additional ones, so it can over-ride the core rules. Hence, from a straight rules perspective, Ripperdactyls can keep hitting indefinitely until they miss.

Point me to the bit in the rules where it says warscrolls over ride core rules, I've seen it but can't see it today for the life in me!

Edit: found it
