Just for laughs...

I have constructed a topical meme.

Though he was probably fibbing about eating five dozen eggs a day.

These egg meme are really proliferating. Just how much have egg prices gone up in the USA? @Scalenex

Roughly triple now from a year ago.

Discount eggs ($1.29 to $3.99), regular eggs ($1.99 to $5.99), and premium free range organic eggs ($3.50 to $9.99). All about three times more than they used to be.

At least at the grocery store I work at. I would guestimate that food in general is about 30% more expensive than it used to be. Meat and dairy seem to be hit less hard. Candy, snacks, and seems to be hit a bit more hard. But nothing has skyrocketed like eggs.

I had a sadistic day care supervisor who told us this would happen if we swallowed a seed. I stopped eating watermelon until age 7 when my parents corrected the false seed my day care guardian told me.

That explains the memes then. Eggs have gone up in Canada too, but not nearly by such a drastic margin.
