I'm in Minnesota. Our State Fair is one of (not THE, but definitely up there) biggest such fairs in the country. We bread and deep fry EVERYTHING there, and a lot of it gets put on sticks. Deep fried butter, deep fried Snickers bars (or Milky Way, or 3 Musketeers - the smell alone will make you gag. I don't know why. I'll eat a fried donut with chocolate, but bread a chocolate bar and fry that sucker and the smell makes me sick), deep fried pork chops (this one is at least halfway sane), a special kind of donut (on a stick, deep fried and covered in powdered sugar). Deep fried, breaded pickles. Seriously, they're like a corn dog, but with a pickle instead of a hot dog. Chicken, of course. Bananas, frozen, breaded, deep-fried, then dipped in chocolate (on a stick).

Get the idea?
 
Is it wrong that I look over the list of deep fried things and only disapprove of half of them.

It's pretty common in midwest restaurants to have fried pickles as an appetizer option.

Note these are very small pickles, every mini-gherkins or hamburger pickle chips.

I got a friend who really likes these and shares. I have two or three little pieces and I'm good.

That's normally what the rest of my friends do, my friends usually eats most of his own fried pickles.

Yeah, these are NOT small pickles I'm talking about. They're usually at least 5 inches long and thicker than a bratwurst, then breaded and fried.
