That is even deeper than some might think.
Harald Blåtand (after whom Bluetooth is named) probably had one or more black teeth. But in that language the same word is used for dark blue and black.
So the meaning might have been "blacktooth", not bluetooth.
So the black tooth painting might even be accurate for people who aren't colorblind.
