Hades/Pluto isn't evil. He is just a god doing his job of managing the Underworld. He neither reaps souls nor does he torture them, he doesn't even chose where they go in the Underworld (which includes heaven, hell, and purgatory). Hades is also one of the gods with the fewest shitty actions, the only one that comes to mind is him kidnapping the goddess he fell in love with (and that is only in one version of the myth, there are others where she wanders in and stays).
