In any event, if you are wondering if Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween or Christmas movie, it's neither. It's a Thanksgiving movie. Jack tries to go on a crazy adventure on his own seeking novelty, falls on bony ass metaphorically speaking and ultimately emerges with a new appreciation for what he has and renewed ties with his unorthodox but loving extended family.
