Hey man!

First off, loving the jurassic theme! My list is very similar in that sense:
1x Carno Oldblood
1x Carno Scar vet BSB
2x Basti with sun gun
1x Ancient Steg
30x Saurus spears + command
12x skinks
12x skinks
12x skinks
3x rippers
3x rippers
1x priest

Having a monster mash is epic, and looks super cool on the board. You need things to protect them though, such as fast moving units and redirectors. Skinks and rippers are great for this for war machine hunting and leading any great threats on a merry dance to nowhere and thus preserving the life of your precious beasts.

Only other thing I would say is having a scroll caddy to use those extra power dice when you roll high and don't have to put it all into just a beam spell!

So glad to see others not taking the normal Slann build which gets pretty boring after a while :)

What prompted the two regular stegs instead of an ancient?

Points or preference?

I think that you have a great point when it comes to several units of skinks and an additional unit of rippers, however that's what I usually run in my more "serious" list anyhow... so I was looking for a bit more of DURRR BEAT FACE style! Haha.

I ended up going with 2 regular stags instead of an ancient for a couple of reasons... one being that I wanted another dino for target saturation. Plus, another D3 impact hit and thunder stomp causing bad boy roaming around.

Hopefully to put a damper on :beaver:

I'd try to squeeze in a Skink Priest or a second Lasordon. You should try to have at least two spells to cast, to get to use all your power dice. A level 2 Beast Priest will have lots of things to Wyssan and if you give him a Ruby Ring of Ruin you can be put even a double 6 magic phase to good use.

I gotta agree with Scalenex on the Skink Shamans. I would actually say 2x Lvl 1's of Heaven's, 1 scroll, 1 cube.

Cannon nerfing, -1 to hit in CC, and even the -1 Ld from Iceshard will work well with Bloodroar!

The Trog is your best place to pickup those points I'd say.

I'm with ya on the Target saturation point. I'd say 2x Iceshard (assuming 1 or the Laser gets off each turn) helps reduce Cannon/shooting damage more than the 6th Monster (along with the 2x scrolls for reducing magic damage).

I also might argue that making both Stegs Ancients would be more valuable (and reliable) then the Egg. Str 6 Impacts is a big difference against the things that you'll be wanting to multi-wound.

Love this idea! I've got some shopping to do before I can run it, but it seems like it would be a list that would either win big or lose big.

If/when you run it, please write up a battle report!

Thanks everyone for the feedback! It's very encouraging.

I think tonight when I get home from my late night classes, I'll be revamping the list a bit! To take into account everything that I've been advised to do!

I just really want to keep the Trog!!!!

Trogs are good, but you will get more out of a tougher Engine of the gods Steg, though the Steg will cost almost 100 points more. The Ancient will also give your saurus a 6++ and help your scroll caddy out with casting wildform or iceshard. Ancient also gives your other dinos a 6++ come to think of it. I would also think about investing in warmachine hunters, just to make sure you can disrupt dwarf gunlines and such.

I know about the boring and you're slightly tweaked version of that tabled my traditional list a few hours ago! :D
