And a really hard fought win for the Dawi-Zharr; keeping their hot streak going.

Yep, that was close.
Those are the most satisfying ones ;)

Congrats to @J.Logan for a deserved triumph!

I shouldn't be surprised @thedarkfourth authored Oaxtep, given that he took my vote. I'm usually fond of his writing style.

Congrats to Logan on a very inventive story. I was wondering whether there might be a second winning story called "Food for Thought", 9 years after the first one. Ah, glory days, before chaos descended on these lands.
Now if we could just turn him to the Chaos Dwarfs!
I have to ask, is there a chaos dwarf forum somewhere, and does it have a short story contest? I assume if there is then you try and make everyone write about lizardmen.

There is a Chaos Dwarf forum. I am not sure if they have a short story contest. I don't spend too much time over there.

Trying to get them to write about Lizardmen would be funny, but the Lizzies are only my fourth favourite army, so there would be other armies ahead of them.

Yes. My second victory. And a second victory in a row. Beware, @Killer Angel, I might be coming for your crown soon! NYAHAHAHA!

Trivia time:

@NIGHTBRINGER actually got two of my three influences. The Looney Tunes episodes "Duck Amuck" and "Rabbit Rampage" were indeed playing in my mind when I devised the idea of a character arguing with the author or narrator.

The third influence was the visual novel "Slay the Princess", which had a narrator who the protagonist and the voices in his head could hear, and was trying to pressure Quiet into doing as the title suggested. However, while it had amusing moments, StP was not a comedy, so the influence on that front was lesser than the two Looney Tunes.

If the word limit was twice what it is, the "Slay the Princess" influence would have probably been a bit more prevalent, but I think it's for the better, as the comedic tale was probably the clincher in this instance.

Yes, I do enjoy having Jammy Dodgers as motivation fuel when I'm tapping away at my keyboard.

@Scalenex pointed out that I could have gone the route of only Ixqual being able to hear the narrator. I had considered that, but I enjoyed the mental image of the Dawi-Zhaar chap taking a potshot at the Narrator because he was offended by the narration. And if the stuntie could hear him, then Kor’dile should also be able to hear him, and express confusion at the attempt by the narration to use him as a veiled threat that make no sense in lizardman culture. Even in a comedy, I make a point of being consistent.

My vote was for story four: "Oaxtep". But it was a close one with "Administer".

There is a Chaos Dwarf forum. They aren't as active as we are on Lustria-Online, but they are a friendly bunch.

There's an army specific forum for most WHF factions. Lustria-Online is one of the largest and most active among them. I don't think any of them has as much regular fluff writing as ours, but a fair few have a writer's community. I stole this contest basic format from the Under-empire (the Skaven forum). They have since retired their short story contests, but in the distant past I entered a few contests there.

so I still have a chance!
You do have a chance. It is a steep climb, but not impossible. You've already demonstrated the willingness to wield the awesome power of the Chaos Dwarfs in the Short Story contest, so it is entirely possible. It will just take a really long time as the frequency of SS contests is low and @Killer Angel enjoys a sizeable lead.
