AoS I want to paint my seraphon as the Koatl's Claw constellation but there isn't much examples

Hello people, I want to make a lore accurate army so I read about the seraphon (battletomes and wikis) but I still have questions.

I already made this post some minutes ago but apparently it didn't get posted or idk, so maybe this will be in double, if that's the case I'll take one down

Little disclaimer, english isn't my first language so this text probably contains errors. I made two reddit posts about questions I had so if you want to check them out : first, second. But the most important questions are on this post.

After reading about the different constellations I found my favourite : the Koatl's Claw.
I find its lore really cool but I'm now having trouble with their color scheme.

Firstly I found this saurus (the 3rd in this image) in the seraphon battletome of 2020 :



It's an old model but now I have an idea of what the Koatl's Claw's saurus look like, here it has an icon, usually does the weapons have the colors of the icons or not ?

In my search of Koatl's Claw informations I screened every page mentioning them and I found this page that, if I remember correctly, is a screen from the battletome of 2023 (french version), which I can't verify since the page got removed :



Here we can see a skink that apparently is a skink from the Koatl's Claw. My problem here is that it's the exact same as the 2nd skink in the previous image showing a skink from the constellation Chotec's Feather, so i don't know if :

- there is an error in the french version of the battletome of 2023
- there is an error in either the battletome of 2020 or 2023
- there isn't an error and their skink happen to be the same

Also there is this image of a saurus from the Chotec's Feather constellation and it doesn't really look like the skink, as opposed to the Koatl's Claw saurus that has similar colors but maybe I'm just trying to convince myself with a bit of copium



So do you have any additionnal information regarding the color scheme of this constellation ?
If you were to paint your seraphon as Koatl's Claw what paint would you use ? (I prefer using contrast paint and warhammer/citadel colour)

What / Who is Koatl ?

What happens when starborn seraphon dies ? Do they leave or corpse behind or just vanish ?

Are starborn seraphon visually different from coalesced seraphon ?

What do starborn seraphon do when they are not summoned ? Do they just chill in their temple-ships in Azyr ?

Slanns can summon seraphon from their memories, do the resummoned remember their past lives and how they died ?

Some people told me the resummoning from memories got kind of retconned, is that true ?

Welcome to Lustria @Tauhm. This is not the most definitive answer, but a previous forum member had a similar question. There are only a couple of replies (and he switched color schemes) but it does give you some potential paint colors. I hope this helps.

Help Thread 'Colours used for Koatl's Claw'

Afternoon all,

Am new to AoS (but not GW) and i'm throwing my lot in with the Lizardmen (from spehss no less!)

Looking at a Koatl's Claw list and want to paint them up as KC to boot.

Battletome (regrettably) only shows one example of such a scheme and it looks easy enough - but i am having trouble identifying the colours used?

Black base with blue scales (but which blues?) and something akin to Fenrisian Grey for the finer highlights.

Browsing the web has yielded no results and thus i thought i'd turn to the community for help. I did also email GW but that may well take some time...

Alas, as i feared i was not able to find further images in the old battletomes.

However, the coalesced tend to assume a coloration that blends with the typical surrounding, so, given that the Koatl's Claw faction resides primarily in the Realm of Ghur, aka the Realm of Beasts (specifically the nation of Mekitopsar), you can work around that.

(but in the end, you could really pick any scheme you like and call it a day)
