I HAVE THE POWER!!! (in terms of forum milestones)

Getting the right balance between artistic licence and historical accuracy can be done, and thus I do frown upon any production that doesn't achieve it well enough for my tastes.

I think it is fair for a piece to be 100% fictitious, 100% historically accurate or anything in between. As long as they don't try to misrepresent what they are producing.

300 is a comic book movie and it should be judged strictly as that. It never tries to be a documentary or even a remotely historically accurate film. It is a fun, over-the-top and action packed piece of entertainment.

I just had to forget that it was supposed to be historic.
No it wasn't. It was never intended or presented as such. It is literally a comic book movie.

About seven years, long before they sold out, Screen Junkies made this video summing up the good and bad about 300.

It's not supposed to be historically accurate. Anyone who thinks it is historically accurate is a fool.

Though this is true. A relatively small amount of people beat a much larger force by controlling a strategic chokepoint.

This happens twice during the Greek Persian Wars, once by the Sparans by land and once by the Athenians at sea.

What bothers me when is when a movie implies historical accuracy by mixing truths with relatively subtle lies but that's another story.

We've lost quite a few great members over the years. @Bowser , @Crowsfoot , @n810 and @spawning of Bob , to name but a few. On the plus side, we've gained quite a few great members over that time period as well. Still, we can always hope that they return to L.O. one day.
I slept, I woke, I liked some things. And now back to sleep.

@Bowser my friend! :):):) It's so good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well.

You're definitely missed around these parts. Are you no longer playing Warhammer? Any chance of you making a more permanent return to Lustria Online?

Glad to see you are still holding down the fort. I haven't played in at least a couple of general's handbooks.

I switched to bloodbowl, played lizards for a couple of games, but as I don't have time for a full season, had to switch to a team that is more immediately fun. Still haven't gotten around to buying or painting models, just used old my old lizards, and then some D&D undead minis to play as Necromantics.

That sounds like fun. Definitely more flexible in terms of fitting in games if you find yourself busy with life.

It's honestly great to hear from you. You should stop in more frequently, even if it is just to say a quick hello to your old Lizard brothers and sisters. I hope life is treating you well.

Aye, I definitely should, come to think of it the last time I played blood bowl was August or September, how the time flies! But it was great to hear from you too!

Those pesky plumber bros. must really be keeping you busy! :D
You know how it is, you work 80 hours a week, building all of these wonderful worlds and traps, setting the minions up just right. Finally finish the masterpiece in the 8th world, getting ready for a legendary battle to change the outcome of the kingdoms forever. As I wait with baited breath, he walks into a goomba in world 1-1. Sigh.

You keep at it... you'll get them eventually!!! :)

What's the worst that could happen? Sleep until a world ending event, wake up in time to save myself as the world gets rewritten with a 4 page rulebook? Seems mighty unlikely.

Alternatively, you could sleep 60 million yrs and wake up discovering the galaxy is full of barbarian races and a great part of the worlds of your galactic empires have been "colonized" in the surface.
