I HAVE THE POWER!!! (in terms of forum milestones)

For some reason the Scar-Veteran on Cold One is sometimes called Cowboy it seems.
Must be something from the old editions.

Can anyone enlight us where it comes from?

It was used in 8th ed.

A "cowboy" was a Saurus Scar Veteran or Oldblood mounted on a Cold One and usually deployed by itself without joining a unit.

There were a lot of different builds but the most common one was a Scar Veteran with the Armor of Destiny and a Great Weapon. 1+ armor save, 4+ Ward save that hits at Strength 7 and was sufficiently cheap

Now imagine if GW hadn't scraped WFB... yikes. I must go into withdrawal (but I probably won't).

I think it was even more than that. I spent a good amount of time over at the Chamber of the Everchosen forum. I was really into WoC at the time, then I found some metal kroxigors when I was vacationing in Hawaii and it reinvigorated my interest in my Lizardmen.
