Hello there, 2 year+ seraphon player (along with some other order armies). Got started in the hobby by a friend who had silver tower which is glorious. Originally I planned on getting sylvaneth as my “proper army” after getting the starter set (I got the star letter in white dwarf march 2017 which states this!), but as soon as I saw the evil grins on the skinks my path was chosen for me. I’m a fan of kit bashing and a fairly impatient painter. I mainly play at home against a (defensive) skaven player using the open war cards. For my own tastes they are more fun than the matched play battleplans which since ghb 2017 came out I have been winning consistently. Looking forward to the new books!

Why not start a painting blog so we can see your kit bashing and help your impatience :)
 
Hi there, yes I should. My models are at various stages of completion but I’ve set myself a target to get my main list painted by end July 2018? Mostly they are impressionistic (sloppy). I’ll do a story so far blog on here to illustrate. The sunblood on my profile pic is a recent paint job pretty proud of him. Just need to paint the base and rim but holding off til I get all my heroes done and I’ll do them all at the same time.2C3401DC-6165-4130-A8E4-DD57A50F9246.jpeg

I like your check list. It's a good idea to try to finish what you have before you buy more stuff. otherwise you get buried in bits like me and many others.
 
Hello, yeah I’m working my way through the helpful stuff on how the mechanics of the site works. Very positive vibe which is good. One question, within reason how long after a comment been posted should one add a comment?

I’m loving the painting stuff and seeing what’s out there. Have to doff my cap to some of the work.

Just use the like button for old stuff. It doesn't bump the thread and the person who posted will still get the likes and see them.
But probably don't post "NOICE!!!11" in every old thread you see. :D

If it is in a painting blog by a poster who is still active they probably are happy to get comments, even if the post is a few years old already. For example if you stumble upon my painting blog and comment on my Starpriest from 2016 (first post) I'll still be happy now. :)

We do try to keep the forum upbeat and friendly and we are very lucky all our members are brilliant.

Post comments when you want but use the like button unless you want to say something about a particular post.

The painting section is full of fantastic stuff and we are blessed with some very very talented painters, we are also blessed with painters that could not shake a brush but are now competent and producing some great minis.

Most notable are @neveroddoreven @Xlanax_lot these guys are on a professional level and produce stunning models, a couple of others but they are no longer active so I will let you dig around.

Everyone that has a painting blog is worth a mention as although they are all on different levels you can see the massive improvements they have all made, I am very proud to be the guardian of the painting section :)

Thanks a lot man! Its been a while since I last posted updates, hope to change that soon!

I am also woeking on a tutorial for the galaxy color scheme bastiladon, not sure if thats thhe one you liked or the green one
