Welcome!
An army without a Slann and a Saurus Astrolith Bearer is certainly a challenge.

Up 'til 1000 points it's certainly doable and also effective (shadostrike is your friend).
With more points it can be harder.

...but we have an entire AoS subforum that will be of help. :)
 
Ohh and is the title Goonies related?

That's the plan! I'm going to do shadow strike with two units of chameleon skinks, maybe convert the starpriest to look like a chameleon as well. And then I'll use an Engine of the Gods (it has skinks on it so it counts) to have some summoning ability. I know it's not as competitive but I will really only be playing socially.

I certainly would be interested in your battle reports of kinking like a Skink. My understanding is that 1000 points, all Skinks is a competitive choice (I generally defer to @Killer Angel for all things AoS).

The fun thing about this hobby is you can always buy more models later if you decide you want to add a Slann or Carnosaur later.

Anyway. My standard blessing. Let us know you have specific questions about gameplay, painting, fluff, or anything else!

I started off with the start collecting box, so if I do change my mind at least I have a few other options. But I will hold out with Skinks as long as i can! and of course I'll keep everybody posted.
