Hello everybody, i could need some help with my upcoming tournie armylist. I want to go magic heavy and still be able to make a punch with the fighting part of the army. The armies i'm going to face is dwarfs, empire, high elves, goblins, dark elves, vampire counts and beastmen. Here are my current list, please give me some advice. :D

Skink priest
Extra level, rod of the storm, power stone
engine of the gods

135p

3 terradons
90p

3 kroxigors
165p

13 temple guards
full command, warbanner
268p

Total: 2243

I would drop the Jungle Swarms for another 3 TG, making it an even 16. Then you can add another unit of 10 Skinks, plus you have enough points left over to give your Slaan the bane-head. That's my $0.02 CDN.

if your going magic heavy give your priest on the steggie the extra spell plaque and i would also drop the swarm i would mabye even drop the krox and get a regular steggie if you have the model

Hmmm, think your swarms would do just fine as a flank protector in this army. But I would like to see your TGs to at least 14.. you could drop a power stone from the slann..

And maybe drop another powerstone to give your saurus spears. 30 spears is more deadly than a powerstone IMO.

you miscalculated your EOTG. it should be 435 points.

You have plenty of dispel dice but you should still not leave the temple without a dispel scroll or two. those can be invaluable. i would drop the power stones on the skinks and give them scrolls instead.

I also would drop the krox and the swarms and maybe add some cold one riders. I f you equip the saurus with spears (which i would do with at least one unit) try running it in a unit of 6x3 so you can get the maximum effet from the spears. I personally don't think the sun standard is worth it points but on the other hands against a very shooty opponent it might be. otherwise just stick to the warbanner. Consider giving your temple guard champ the item that forces your enemy to reroll on the miscast table, might be worth it in ombination with the cupped hands.

You guys should seriously stop posting points costs, even in the the most obtuse form.

On a side note, I like the swarms because they come in the starter box, though it's not advertised, they are apparently intended for the cold one rider bases, but they work honestly better then the metal ones.

The slann seriously doesn't need a sun totem, if anything is gonna shoot at the slann's unit you'd be better off just getting 3 or four more guys, saurus and especially TG aren't gonna die to longbowmen or elves, the primary shootists. Plus, against armies that have no shooting, you'll get ranks, and against magic, it doesn't help to have sun totem.

I agree that the sun banner isn't the best choice, meybe the dominion standard insteed, very fun and usefull if a got to use it.

Im new to this forum so i didn't know about the points thing. I shall leave out the points next time i post.

Jungle swarm is a tricky one, cause they can look up an enemy unit for a while, but they can also die very fast. Im thinking of switching the swarms and the kroxigors against a chief in a steg with the lance. Unlimited power!

More dispel scrolls instead of dispel would problaby make more sense, harasing the enemys magic phase and relly on the slanns free dice options and the Eotg.

Thanks for all the help guys! One questions thought, do saurus with spears in the second rank get to attack with 2 attacks? That would be some surprise for med and my fellow oponents:)

I'l post my new and improved armylist tomorow, I would apreciate some more tips if needed :D

Drop all your power stones and the saurus champ to give spears to you saurus

I'd try to fit some sallies in there. Invaluable at protecting your flanks (from what i've seen players do with them is place them on each flank to take out those heavy cav units, plus they cause fear, so they might cause them to flee

If you wanted to protect flanks why not razors? its what their meant for!!!!! they enemy will be very afraid to charge them ;)
