GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

It almost seems like they are unwilling to pivot their multi-billion dollar company to suit your own personal whims! ;)

Less my personal whims and more my personal logic... often when I see something crop up I think "Ah, a great time to do x and y!", only for GW to miss those ideas and do z, sometimes to overall detriment I think... not my fault if GW can't match my opportunism :D

Which specific 8th edition era pieces would you like GW to release in the future?

All of them would be nice, but particularly Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight, I was after those and missed out on them.

Yep, just saw it... don't expect me to go wild with enthusiasm :p, but I hope you and other WoC players will be able to fill any gaps in your hordes with these rereleases at any rate. I've noticed both the Chaos Trolls and the old Chaos Ogres are returning... more conversion fodder for your Troll Horde!

Hahaha... it wasn't the army I was hoping for either.

My WoC army is in a pretty fine state. I don't expect I need to buy anything at all (at least for now). I could us a second Chimera, but I'm not really that fond of the model, so I'll just represent it with something I already own.

I've completed my Troll Horde!! :) (at least in terms of models... not assembly or painting )

Ah yes, I recall it was Wood Elves you (or more accurately @Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER) were after, but, knowing you're such a fan of your Warriors, I nevertheless thought I'd place the suggestion into your mind :)

Great! Which Troll models does your unit ultimately comprise of?

Wasn't Soul Wars the last major victory the SCE actually had their name? It's like GeeDubs heard people complaining that the SCE were just 'Spess Mahreens but fantasy', and so they went 'No, no... see, they actually lose big battles'. Except... that's all they've done for a while now. In order to prove they aren't as potent a force (and creator's pet) as the Astartes, they've gone in the complete opposite direction.

Except for giving the SCE far more model releases than every other faction combined. They're still shamelessly throwing SCE in our faces as their poster children.
Order in general tends to get trashed in AoS.
The only time order gets a "win" is when one order faction (usually some kinda elf) sacks the city of a different order faction. Not sure how happy you should be with that...
O, and the occasional short-story in white dwarf where the guardsman actually survives counts I guess.

But for the broader state of the universe; it's mostly just chaos/death/destruction rampaging around as they please until <insert plot device> guides them away for a little bit (e.g. Kroak showing up to send Kragnos away for a lil while)

On the bright side; Order does seem to have literally infinite cities to sack and infinite settlers to send out to into the wilds to settle new cities, which will promptly get sacked....

You are correct. Eagerly waiting for the Wood Elves.

As for the WoC, are they the only TOW release not to get any new models?

  • Throgg
  • 2 metal Chaos trolls
  • 2 trolls from the battle for skull pass box (duplicates)
  • 2 metal generic O&G trolls
  • 3 river trolls
  • 3 rockgut troggoths
  • Dankhold troggoth (has the footprint of 3 trolls)
  • Mollog via Warhammer Underworlds (has the footprint of 2 trolls)
  • remaining bits from the rockgut troggoths that with some creativity can be used to make 3 additional trolls

Does GW typically release the prices before the pre-order goes up?

which boggles my mind.

I have to keep explaining to people who moan in disgust about high prices that they're high because people have shown that they'll buy at those prices. Videogames at stupidly high prices? Well they aren't going to go down while people are actually paying those prices.

Warhammer minis? Sure people complain about the annual price hike, but many of those same people are clearly still buying them, so GeeDubs ain't about to decrease them. So alas, those like you and me are left shaking our fists at these silly high prices tags.

I find video games aren't that bad unless someone absolutely must have them day one. Within the first year of release it is usually possible to pick them up on sale at about 50% of their original price.

It looks that way:

But to be fair, they've had a load of new AoS plastics in recent times, so they're not exactly bereft of choice.
I'm pretty sure nearly all the new AoS stuff is larger than the TOW equivalents, especially with the need to rank stuff up & the dynamic poses, so the stuff that can easily be carried over is going to be limited.
