The Great Plan moves on!

Are you going to pre-order? I'm certainly not to, not because I'm not excited for the new models, but because I'm not exactly a collector of special editions, more when they will get dated by the next year.

However, this makes me think, what do you think our Vanguard box will contain instead? I'm extremely hoping for a Stegadon, but a Bastie will do it. I wonder if they will include Saururs Warriors, but that would mean that they will release it quite later instead.

I will most likely not take this box, for the same reason as @Killer Angel . Not much added value in the box than buying all the models separate.

For the Vanguard box I suspect there will be at least one of the new units in there. I am guessing the new Scar-Veteran on Agraddon.

Grrr, !mrahil

Even though I already have waaay too many Saurus and two metal Slann I'm totally on board with those minis if they release as a normal discounted box set.

You'd have to imagine that it's release is somewhat around the corner.

I'm more interested in concrete "This is what bases are moving to X size" so i can actually work on projects.

I'm also of the opinion that they are re-doing the dated TK plastics and keeping the relatively new stuff (TG, necro knights, sphinx.)

All of which makes me excited, except for the fact that all of the re-released kits are sure to be at New-GW price points, which makes little sense.

Sure, but there were so many corners that i lost the count... :p
That's true, but this seems much bigger than all the previous announcements we've seen. We won't know until Warhammer Fest, but its very inclusion leads me to speculate that we will see TOW released inside of this year.

Personally, I have no intention to abandon 8th edition basing sizes. It's easy to upscale a base size (via movement trays, sticking the base on a larger secondary base) but downsizing is problematic. Plus, there is no guarantee that TOW will be any good.

You're probably right on both accounts.

i'm doing deuling Dawi, but i can't base anything until i have the appropriate base sizes.

Dueling Dawi? Vanilla Dwarf vs. Chaos Dwarf?

I guess you're fully on board with TOW then?

Correct on point 1.

Eh, on point two. I have projects planned and I'm q beginning state, this would just give me two to play with and learn the rules

I can not believe they'll won't confirm TOW will come out later this year.

Maybe they'll have a surprise demo for it? I mean there might be some space in here, somewhere:

I sure hope TK are one of the early armies. Those Necrosphynxes are .

Yeah, a bigger size could be a win-win.
You just need movement trays of the appropriate size, so you can play both oldhammer and ToW without needing any rebase.
The only issues could be for single models (monsters...) and skirmishers, but as said, you can alway lay the old model upon a new, larger base.

Definitely a solvable problem.

Personally I have no intention of playing both though. Either I stick with 8th or move onto ToW (if it somehow manages to dethrone 8th).

Most monsters fit pretty well on their bases, so they might not touch those. 8th edition was a bit of a mess in that regard, with monsters having multiple legal sizes depending on if they were the new or old sculpt (Treeman, Carno, etc.)

I use movement trays for skirmishers too, so that isn't a problem. Unless they change how the skirmishers rule works.

First, I'm not sure what Tepok, the Old One more related to magic, has to do with Raptadons? Second, those "Tepok Lances" really look more like clubs, but that's just me.

Interesting... GW is encouraging us to use the two Raptadon units in tandem.
Chargers have 3 Attacks at 3+/3+/-1/1 if a Hunters unit targeted (not hit or damaged) the opposing unit.

Hunters have -2 Rend on a "Starstone Atlalt?" Does this rule mean that a unit of Hunters can shoot twice (once in shooting phase and once at end of charge phase) provided the conditions are met?

it does! 4/4 isn't wonderful but it's 20 attacks at rend 2 on a fast unit.
Tepok is the god of magic but he is also the god of guile and being clever soooo. clever girls
