How come the Amazons get what should obviously be a Lizardman model?!?

There's more Dwarf there, if GW had given the rest of the Votann range as many Dwarven symbols and beards they'd have been on a roll with this new faction, but the beards at least can be scavenged from other Dwarf kits.

yep, this one's a good model.

Honestly, it's too space marine-like. It's more classicly dwarvish than the earlier Votann stuff with the addition of runes, beard & head-piece-thingy. But it also just looks like a short space marine, especially now that it's armour covers most of him (unlike the other stuff that still showed a lot of cloth). Same with the Einhyr Hearthguard, who just look like misshapen terminators. Similar to how the thousand sons are "egyptian space marines" this feels like "dwarvish space marines".

The earlier Votann stuff might not have been classicly dwarvish, but at least it looked distinct from the rest of 40K. And the earlier stuff did fit well with the theme of prospectors and miners in space, so in that sense they captured the ideas of a society of mining dwarfs in space quite well. This feels more like someone just slammed a KO and space marine together, it lacks creativity.

Decent model though. Just can't help but feel like an opportunity was missed here.
