GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Even more Aeldari! and still more to come.

Grrr, Imrahil

To be honest new Guardians are unnecessary given they were one of the few Craftworld Eldar kits that were already in plastic (it’s the Aspect Warriors that were in Finecast), and you need a fair lot of them so the heightened price tag won’t help, but at least they’ve got more dynamic poses now *shrug*

Maybe Aspect Warriors are still to come? I know it's the kit that I hear Eldar players asking for all the time...

Well Howling Banshees already exist in a poor-value 5 models for £30 box, and we've seen a clear teaser of Striking Scorpions in the Rumour Engine, but there are a lot of Aspect Warrior groups that still need to be made in plastic and GW need to cover them all if they're to win the respect of Eldar players, because all of them need new plastic kits and the Eldar fanbase will notice if one or more Aspect Warrior groups are missed out for whatever reason.

Eldar was my first 40K army back in Vietnam ('94 I believe?), so I'd love to see new models for the aspect warrors. Always loved those guys.

I just saw this screen on the Warhammer+ 2022 teaser video. I hope GW won't put the apps behind Warhammer+, but that's sort of how it reads.

I'm pretty sure that the current state of the app is the free beta version and that they will paywall it eventually. The app will be included in Warhammer+ or you can pay for it separately.

Yeah... bummer. I was just hoping they wouldn't. :(

Yep, that's right

Why am I not surprised? GW appear to be trying to challenge EA Games for the 'Elitist Money-Grabbing Supercorporation' award.

Wasn't the plan always to make it partially paywalled and partially free?

E.g. warscrolls are free, allegiance abilities are paywalled?

I guess I missed that bit of news from them, or just misunderstood when they released Warhammer+. Sorry if I got the thread off track.

well, considering that free warscrolls are no more availamble on GW's site...
I vaguely remember there being some post by GW at some point claiming they'd put everything nicely together, you know for "convenience".

Obviously it's a ploy to get more people to buy warhammer+, if you're already using the app to look at the free warscrolls you're more likely to be tempted to use pay for the other stuff. Plus it makes it easier to advertise to the "free" users and show them what they're missing out on. But I do think the plan was to keep (part) of the app free.

It'd make sense to use that basic marketing ploy...

I just really really really wished the stupid app got a desktop version, or at least a website... mobile first design sucks.
