GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Wonder if they are going to gush about them this Saturday...
Well, making brushes entirely white is something I have never seen before. No ones ever been dim enough to do that.

First time they are used, the bristles will cease to be white.

Last time I visited a Michael’s® store in-person I snagged about 40 synthetics for $20 bucks. (There was a sale...)

Do you think these will go for $20 each or $20 for the set??

I've never looked into the Idoneth lore, do they even try to explain how all the sea creatures, and eels, and things fight on land?

I like this Warband a lot. The only model I don’t like that much is the individual Namarti, but I’ve never been that keen on them, and I was honestly concerned there would have been more of them in this Warband, so I’m certainly pleased to see that there’s only one. The other two Elves look pretty darn good, and the Sea Creatures are wonderful. I think this one is probably the best they’ve released this season.

I've never looked into the Idoneth lore, do they even try to explain how all the sea creatures, and eels, and things fight on land?

When the Idoneth launch a land raid, they flood the battlefield with a magical ocean called the Ethersea, which sustains the sea creatures and disorientates the enemy.

Today’s 40K preview was indeed Orks, and we get to see the Beast Snagga Boyz kits in full detail:

As well as the Squighog riders and the foot Beast Snaggas, there’s a Nob riding a bigger Squighog and a Runtherd character with a beard and dreadlocks:

Not so much of a fan of him, but all the other models are great fun. GW will be doing a Lumineth with these chaps initially by releasing an army box with all the stuff included in the first picture and the limited edition of the Ork Codex (which is indeed next after Sisters and Admech), before the regular book and all the new models arrive in full later. They were also generous enough to preview another of the models today, a brilliantly fearsome Warboss in Mega Armour:

And that’s the fifth preview done and dusted.

Only one more day before we find out what the mysterious day 6 preview is...

Despite not pushing for Guard Infantry lately, it's nice to see that the Cadian kits will finally get more in the way of special weapons and heads.

Yup, Third Edition’s coming, with a new faction set to fight the Stormcast. To be honest I was expecting Third Edition because 40K 9th Edition arrived last year, and 2nd Edition arrived a year after 40K 8th Edition, so it appears GW’s got a three year cycle of editions going, which itself wasn’t that different to the old days when it was four years between editions.

That new faction sounds exciting though. All of the talk about mires, fens and bogs plus a female narration makes me think plastic Fimir are coming, especially as Forge World got rid of their one hero and kit quite a while back...

The unknown event will probably be AoS 3.

Naw, we won't hear about AoS 3 before Kragnos and the SBG book is out.

Perhaps it has to do with their animation department?

In the end, I'm sure both of those dreams will be dashed. No plastic Tomb Kings or Chaos War Mammoth. :(

But we have a new exciting AoS edition!
If it wasn't going to be a plastic War Mammoth then I really didn't care. Might as well be new AoS, at least my prediction (which I lazily stole from Vince Venturella and Tom ) was proven correct.

I'd rather it be new AoS than new Tomb Kings... I love the fact that the TK are not part of AoS (in any significant way). Plus it means my TK are more rare and valuable! (sorry @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl , I do feel your pain, but like usual, we are on opposite sides).

It looks like the rumors in that video I found a little while ago are at least partially confirmed. The guy doing the interview mentioned "core battalions," which were brought up in that previous leak. I wonder if that means that they're making a bunch of generic battalions with compositions of, for example, 1 hero 2-4 battleline or something like that?

Also, double-turn is still here. They said the "really wanted to keep it" and expand upon it even. Also, he says you get more command points if you go second? Not sure how that's going to work. I guess we're going to get a complete system re-write, which will obviously favor the newer armies until we get yet another round of battletome updates. I *really* hope we don't have to wait until the end of this edition's life cycle to get an update again...

*edit:* I also really hope that the new rules don't wreck us as we're still the second most complained about army after KO. Just look what GW did to Tau and Imperial Guard with 40k 9e. I'm starting to worry that Kroak's new rules will make him another useless big centerpiece model and we'll be back to "better bring 200 Skinks and hope you can drown your enemies in your own blood if you want to have a chance at winning" as our competitive playstyle.

Is she a Stormcast?
I could see converting her to a Bretonnian.
If she is Stormcast she is the best looking SCE yet; but I (harshly) judge SC by how easily they could be converted into Bretonnians.

The terrain piece is quite nice, that makes five rather decent pieces of scatter terrain.
