GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Destruction has been pretty much ignored in the Broken Realms, so maybe the folks on here are right that Gordrakk will be the next book?

Well, three stories under the Broken Realms tag have so far been released recently on Warhammer Community, all featuring Destruction factions as the protagonists and all themed around Gordrakk bashing and breaking heads to get everyone to join his Great Waaagh!, so Broken Realms: Gordrakk is almost certainly the next volume after Teclis. In fact I thought it was going to be number 2 after Morathi, but GW just can’t seem to resist including more Elf stuff.

Oh, I didn't really realize that. I haven't read any of those stories on the site. Thanks!

Lumineth are getting a HUGE number of new models, at least eight by my count. Pretty crazy amount of new stuff all at once while old faction still don't get anything... except DoK which apparently are getting a new battletome *and* endless spells. Why couldn't we have faction spells again?

I'm with @Just A Skink, the snake endless spell is ours, lol! :D

I have to admit that despite the apparent goofiness, the dreadknight was at least consistent in how it appeared to be controlled by its pilot: a force control system synced to the user's bodily movements.

This doesn't.

Judging by the legs alone, which are much too long for normal human proportions, I'd surmise that the sister piloting this contraption had her biological legs (up to at least her thighs) removed and thus controls them directly via neural interface, which begs the question as to why she and her order haven't done the same with her arms.

I guess it's another case of Schizo Tech within the Imperium again.
She could be on stilts, I think her legs roughly end where the suits knees begin, so it can work without breaking her legs. Much like performers you can sometimes see on stilts. I must say I like this one better than the grey knight one though. The sororita is actually inside the suit thing, instead of strapped onto it like the grey knight. And the exosuit actually covers most of the sororita giving extra protection, instead of painting a giant bullseye like it does with the knight. The only real obvious weakspot is the lack of a helmet, but then again that holds for like 90% of all 40K models :p

8? What have you seen so far?
All I got is:
- kangaroos
- Archer horses
- Lord on horse/kangaroo/thing
- Fox spirit archer thing

and the hint that more is to come.

Seriously makes me wonder why they released LRL last year if this big an update was coming this quickly. Especially if you assume that this update is likely also delayed by covid.

Don't know if these guys are all coming out at the same time, but there's been a lot of models teased.

That makes 10, as that doesn't even include the four that are definitly confirmed. That gives the LRL an update that doubles them in size within a year of their initial release....

I'm not entirely sold on the stilts theory, given the articulation of the knees on the suit. Even in the digitigrade stilts used in movie props and some high-end fursuits, the system really only works when the stilt is treated as an extension of the lower leg and not a whole other point of articulation separate from the body using it.

I hadn't seen the teaser yet, but mehn that is a lot of new models... why
The top right seems to be 2 figures, one on the ground and one jumping in the sky. So a double hero?

I like the esthetics of the guys, but it feels overdone at with the amount of units...

Grrr, Imrahil

In fairness, wouldn't be the first model that isn't physically accurate. But I still think that this is the idea they're going for.

I wondered about that too. I assume it's a Lumineth summoning an elemental spirit of some kind (probably air/wind).

If I look closely I think there will even be two more then these and the ones revealed already. In the newyearsday teaser there also was a LRL model on a cloud and one on a sort of Camel that I can't fit with these contours... So 12 models :eek:

the camel is the mounted lord thing, which I had already included, so 11. But yeah I forgot about the cloud rider.. Still an absurdly large update.

My gut feeling is that at least some of these new models for LRL were originally going to be part of the initial army release, but got Covid delayed.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if several of the goofy double releases and such were at least partially influenced by current world conditions.

If they just came out and admitted as much it wouldn't be half as annoying

True, but they are apparently doing a very poor job of communicating in a clear and timely manner with game stores currently, at least here in the US, so I'm not expecting them to actually tell us mere customers anything.

And apparently according to this new lore the Lumineth are responsible for the AoS Chaos invasion, but are also the "bestest ever" at everything. I'm starting to get really turned off to elves in AoS right now...

meh, at least it's more interesting than the 40K and WFB variant were they birthed Slaanesh purely by simply being really depraved. Here it's literally cuz they took everything to excess trying to be the best at every single thing.

But yeah, not super charming.

Well, I never thought I’d say this but HERE COME THE REY ELVES!
