But let's face it, TOW ain't coming in 2021.
Am I the only one still content with 8th edition?

I'm a little less optimistic of TOW. We shall see though.I like 8th. I play 8th. I'm actively disseminating 8th (see other Hobby thread). I'm hoping TOW is a comeback on 8th as it would get more people into it.
This is the way.

Eesh... I'm kind of thankful that my local gaming group is willing to invest in defunct titles like Warhammer Ancient Battles. I don't think we would have gotten into historical tabletop wargaming last year if we strictly only played supported official games. The reason why i put some irrational hopes into TOW, is that i live in an area where people play only supported, official games.
"Why should i play 9th? It's not official, rules are made up with no control"
"Why should i play 8th? It's a dead game".
These reasonings are baseless, if not simply wrong... but that's how it works.
If TOW will be an acceptable game with the right flavor, than it will be the ticket to a lost world. Otherwise... maybe i can manage to play a 8th game once in a while (read: a couple of years)

True, but it required trying to get models for Warhammer Ancient Battles via Victrix and Warlord Games that led our group to discover such gems as Black Seas, Hail Caesar! and Bolt Action. While we didn't find Hail Caesar! to be to our liking (for a game that isn't reliant on model count, it ironically required more models to play than WHAB), we took to Black Seas with zeal and will be getting into Bolt Action in the new year.Ah, we play historical wargames, napoleonic age and WWII. Luckily, Warlord Games exists.![]()
So slaanesh is just flat out getting a new tome. I think this makes them the faction to be updated the quickest within all of AoS? Even SCE went more than two years before they got their second tome, and that was mostly just to combine the dracoth tome with the regular tome instead of a complete update.
I mean, sure. But it makes me wonder why they didn't just postpone the release of the first tome. Especially considering that Covid probably delayed this release somewhat. If you're going to release this big an update this quickly, why not just do it right the first time? The only reason why i could think it's a good idea is because slaanesh is finally getting a new whole set of mortal followers, so a new codex is needed.

i have a feeling that less will. a lot of people who played slanesh did it for the power the book provided and then they got triple nurfed out of existence. slaneesh has never been all that populer and with the resent goings on i think many will be cautious and slow to pick it up.Yeah, it's basically a fix to a previous release which was badly done. Except for money... anyone that gave money for the first slaanesh, will give money also this round.
Dirty moneygrabbers...

None of em are halfnaked though looking at the video just a bit of cleavage and the occasional leg.Do you know if the new box of Sisters vs female drukhari includes a mud pool to set battles between half-naked plastic miniatures?
