GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Actually the lion is perhaps a bigger clue then you let on. If it was say elves it could give a look at the new direction a highelves successor faction might look like or suggest that some love might be coming their way soon?

I was thinking it was more of a pet for one of those Daughters of Khaine tarts because of the wickedly bladed and spiked tail - I can just imagine a Witch Elf with one of those things on a lead.

However, you may be right in that it could be teasing a new Elf faction - possibly Wanderers or Lion Rangers as it is evidently a hunting lion.

Somehow, the Lord Castellant for Stormcasts is only 100 pts - he comes with a free Gryph Hound, makes shield Liberators nigh unkillable with his lantern and is pretty decent in combat too. Not that I’m complaining too much - he’s probably my joint favourite model with the Saurus Sunblood and Bastiladon (assuming he includes the Gryph Hound).

yeah the sce heroes are by far the worst examples combining both powerfull support a good stay like nd being horrificly cheap to finish it off. My gfs celestant on dractoh is my favourite, its a monstrous cavalry thing so amazing statline. It spits lightning so AoE ranged mortal wound spam. Its command ability basicly makes all SCE on the board immune to battleshock having 24" bubble or something obscene like that. And its only like 220 points I think. But especially at smaller sized games the guys basicly an army in his own right while keeping all the SCE unbreakable cuz you know, theyre not hard enough to kill yet with their two wounds and 4+ save. And then you havent even looked at the support he can give with artifacts and command traits, like the trait that adds +1 to save rolls for SCE if you didnt charge while near him. It effectivly makes battles revolve around killing the one hero.

Has it been clarified if they'l actually sell the entire hill (or some frame or something to start with at least?). It seems rather fiddly and prone to leaving small gaps if you have the build the hill yourself, especially if you don't have a lot of practise with it.

On that note, why doesn't GW sell more stuff for building terrain like the various foams and such? Seems like an easy secondary form of income for them.

The way I understood it they really only sell those parts.

I mean that assumes the shipping delay is resolved and that the delay doesn't affect other things coming down the time but sure that seems like a plausible way things could go.

Forbidden Power is indeed on its way next week, finally:

I imagine it'll then be Sylvaneth next week, and after that, the third preview where we get to see the next army to be previewed...

Some of that scenery gives me great ideas for future projects. Specifically that bone bridge.

It reminds me of another bridge I was considering getting recently:

When I first saw pieces of that terrain set I thought about building the Sigmar statue in destroyed form but I see they already included that as well.

I kinda like that scatter terrain. My buddy and I often play with few terrain because we tend to build out terrain pieces pretty big.

I would prefer more generic ruins though, so it wouldn't always look so... human. Simple walls of stone and wood could be from almost every faction of the game.

So would I - that was the problem with Warhammer Fantasy scenery. Practically all the scenery pieces made for Fantasy were either from the Empire or Chaos, neither of which I collected or cared about.

Perhaps the Azyrite Ruins look a bit more generic? I'm unsure.

You might be interested in Hagglethorn Hollow i came across on Youtube.
I'm temped to buy, just because of the diversity that can be achieved.

Gr, Imrahil

PS: maybe still mainly human, but the ruins look more ruiny

Could they not make generic scenery and have bolt on bits for factions?
While I would like that, I think that is harder than it sounds, because even the base style of architecture differs quite a bit.
Greek/Roman columns for Chaos or Lizardmen would look kinda weird.

I haven't thought it through to be honest, but i was thinking more of more natural terrain (hills, woods, etc) with a bolt on faction influence.

That could work.
Something natural (rocks, woods) or close to natural could work.
Palisades for example are palisades, regardless who builds them. Then put a banner of Sotek or a Bonesplitterz totem thing on there, depending on what you play.
