GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

although they ruined much of the lore I enjoyed for the Lizardmen I'm not really opposed to a shake up of the status quo.
Ruined? They are the same Lizardmen from Lustria, just in the future, evolved.

Anyway, Bretts where quite generic for me, without any "real" feel, unlike Tomb Kings.

I'm liking AoS, 40K is already stupidly complex and this model seems faster. I'd prefer to play 3 games at afternoon rather that only one.
Damn even the two metal dragons for elves. Even cavalry?
*Three.

Well that explains why they were oh so hideous. But, hey, maybe this will give them the chance to make proper old dragons, like the DE Black Dragon.

What makes me mad is why in the Hell they are sending Glade Riders to oblivion? And heavy wepons too, now that's crap...

Not to go into too much detail but.... the loss of the old ones, sotek , chotek, a certain cargo cult aspect that I always found to servants abandoned by their masters (both slann and skinks) trying to carry out a great design that they had lost the pieces to. Now its more order, memories, living azyr, the dacothian and most of the sacrifice stuff scrubbed off. It just comes off as less interesting then what I actually enjoy about them. We can discuss it somewhere else if you want XD

I always enjoyed the bretonnians for my interest in medival feudal cultures and the vows and chivalry. The models were a bit generic, I do miss the tomb kings not that I was ever really interested in playing them as they had a freasher looking set of models.

But again nothing lasts forever, just enjoy things while you can :).

Didn't see the third hiding there :D So many No Longer Avaliables, only I can sit back and watch. Want to buy some goodies but the money is set aside for the two models.

I does look much better without the wings! Maybe for some cool carnosaur...

Or we could pretend that its a sauropod! (remember that some of them where mentioned, arcanosaurs?)

I can see myself trying to convert the Star Drake into a Seraphon look, after all, I guess they are the reason for why we (they) are here.

Now, according with AoS app, this are the renames for all the Order suviving factions (and subfactions):

Dark Elves:
Scourge Privateers (Corsairs, Kharibdyss, Scourgerunner Chariots, Black Ark Fleetmaster)
Shadowblades (Assassins and Dark Riders)
Daughters of Khaine (Doomfire Warlocks, Witch Aelves, Cauldron of Blood, Bloodwrack Medusae and Shrine, Sisters of Slaughter, Death Hag)
Darkling Covens (Dreadspears, Executioners, Bleakswords, Sorceress, Sorceress on Black Dragon, Black Guard, Darkshards)
Order Serpentis (Drakespawn Knights [Cold One Knights], War Hydra, Dreadlord on Black Dragon, Drakespawn Chariots)

I can't wait to see a Star Collecting! Order Serpertis. Everyone here have a good chance to get a Start Collecting box, except Shadowblades.

High Elves:
Swifthawk Agents (Shadow Warriors, Chariots [Tiranoc Chariots specifically], Skywarden [Sea Helm on Skycutter], Skycutter)
Lion Rangers (White Lions and White Lion Chariots)
Eldritch Council (Archmage, Loremaster, Swordmasters, Drakeseer, Archmage on Dragon)
Order Draconis (Dragon Blades [Dragon Princes of Caledor], Dragonlord [Lord on Dragon], Dragon Noble [Old Prince/Lords on foot])
Phoenix Temple (Anointed, Phoenix Guard, Frostheart and Flamespyre Phoenix)

Drakeseer? Anoited? don't know about those. I can see a bundle like those for Pesky Rats. Notice that there is not a single ranged troop here, since GW just executed the HE archers, kinda similar to the Arrer Boys.

Wood Elves are now all Wanderers:
Nomad Prince [Araloth], Waystrider [Glade Lord/Captain with Great Blade], Sisters of the Thorn, Spellweaver, Glade Guard, Wayfinder [Glade Lord with bow/eagle], Wild Riders, Waywatcher, Sisters of the Watch [or Avelorn, they got transfered, wich is good for me, I love the 'Sisters' models], Eternal Guard, and Wildwood Rangers.

Please, make a Sisters bundle GW, please.

Empire:
Collegiate Arcane (Celestial Hurricanum, Battle Mage, Luminark of Hysh, Battlemage on Griffon)
Devoted of Sigmar (Warrior Priest, War Altar of Sigmar, Flagellants, Witch Hunter)
Free Peoples (Freeguild Crossbowmen, Freeguild General, Freeguild Guard, Freeguild Handgunners, Freeguild Pistoliers, Freeguild Greatswords, Freeguild Archers, Freeguild Outriders, Freeguild General on Griffon, Demigryph Knights, or, just every other miniaure of the gane, changing "Empire" for "Freeguild")

There will be Freeguild sets, thats for sure. But, where is Karl Franz?

All Dwarfs are now "Dispossessed":
Thunderers, Quarrellers, Ironbreakers, Unforged (Dragon-Slayer), Warden King (Thane/Lord), Longbeards, Irondrakes, Warriors, Runelord, Hammerers.

Dwarfs and Empire engineers and machines are now a new faction, Ironweld Arsenal:
Gyrocopters, Gyrobombers, Cogsmith (Dwarf Engineer), Gunmaster (Empire Engineer), Helstorm Rocket Battery, Hellblaster Volley Gun, Dwarf Cannon, Dwarf Organ Gun and Steam Tank.

Bye bye bretonnians I shall miss you.... although honestly this is probably for the best.

Can't LIKE that sentiment...

How is it "for the best" ?

I agree. How is the discontinuation of bretonnia for the best?!

My guesses would be...
  • put out of their misery
  • don't have to endure the "new AoS world"
  • don't have to share the field with fantasy space marines
  • they don't get a silly rename like "Seraphon"

:joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful:

Now the thought of, what would their name be if the Brets continued to fight on?

KF is dead, he is now used as a generic option for the Freeguild General on Griffon, option for the warhammer is on the scroll. Biggest issue I have is the breastplate iconography with the text Karl Franz, that is now pretty much useless.

So that is: 85, 62, 120 and 65 Euro's.. something feels off here

If we look at the sprues.... (new favourite line I think) Nagash is 2 sprues and the star drake is 3, picture above is also missing things like the wings which make the model larger. Although not as tall it also seems a fairly substantial chunk of plastic without these floating spirits etc to add dead air to it's size. It honestly looks like you could fit the complete Mortarch into it already before you adds wings, rider etc and still have room. It also sounds like there's more variation to the dragon then say, nagash which means more parts which means more costs. Between all that and the fact that dragons sell, that seems about right to me.

Griffons, like Carnos, have 3 options to build; Kroq-Gar and Grymlock are now Oldblood on Carnosaur and there is already an Empire General on Griffon.

Now, you can always use that KF emblem for a medieval-themed KFC miniatures...
