As a magic item, there is no reason it shouldn't be effected by spells as mentioned above, and there is a strong argument for it having magic attacks since it is technically a magic item. Just wondering what oyu are basing your argument on, I agree with your from a logic perspective and think GW should have just made it a mount option for heroes, but you need to look at the rules not the logical perspective.
