7th Ed. Gladiatorial Fights!

I'd go with:
Oldblood
-Blade of Revered Tzunki
-Amulet of Itzl
-Shield
-Light Armour
-Cold One
Offensively you'll wound any other character likely on 2's. Also, they most likely will have a ridiculous armour save that will be negated. Finally, your movement of 7 will give you the advantage over any foot characters. Defensively, you have a T5 character that has a 0+ armour save and a 2+ ward save against the first wound suffered. To me, this character is ready to rock.

Don't forget with a cold one you could posibly outnumber by fear causers an just run the guy down. :pigeon:

It would also be prety funny to run a chief on a terradon with a bane head and the 2+ onetime save neclace,
and just fly circles around the other guy shooting him with the blow pipe after droping rocks on him of course.

yeah, but with that combo if you face a wizard or anything that can shoot [elves, among others] you are rather dead in a few turns.
also, with a skink you stand no chance against a DElf lord unless he is really unlucky

Edit: As a DE player, I want to warn you of this potential setup;

Dreadlord
-Pendent of Khaeleth
-Armour of Eternal Servitude
-Deathpiercer
-Sea Dragon Cloak
-Shield
-Cold One
-Repeater Crossbow

Total Points: 284pts

He has a 0+ Armour save vs shooting, a 1+ armour save in CC, a 4+ regen roll, the uber powerful reverse ward save, killing blow attacks and a 2 shot AP crossbow! He's also Ld10 so BoR is pretty useless against him! Not too sure what we have that could defeat this guy 1 on 1............

Oldblood
-cold one
-burning blade of chotec
-malming shield
-glyph necklace
-bane head
-light armour

0+ AS and a 5+ WS.

4 S5 burning attacks at total -4 to AS, this brings the dark elf lord to a 5+ AS and takes away his regen since its flamming attacks. also its double wounds so if you get at least 2 wounds the guy is dead. and don't forget your Cold One he can bite off a head if you don't forget to roll for him.

I don't mean to get off topic, but how does the reverse ward save work?

The reverse ward save is based on the strength of the hit. You roll a dice for each wound that got through your armour. On a roll equal or under the strength of the attack, the hit is ignored. A 6 always fails.

against S5 or more its basically a 2+ ward save

Slann with focued rumination and rod of storm. 300pts

Really I have no clue but I like the rod of storm and feel it gets forgoten to much :D

Your Friendly Thunder Lizard

I'd lean toward using Aura of Quetzel for a close combat oldblood. As in:

Cold one
BBoC
Enchanted shield
Aura of Quetzel
Bane Head
Light armor
=275 pts.

-1 armor save, -1 to hit him; nothing to sneeze at. Or, for an entertaining slugfest:

Hide of Cold Ones
Aura
Venom of fire frog
shield/ great weapon

T6, poisoned attacks, 2+ armor with great weapon, 0+ with shield. He's not killing much, but he's probably not going away anytime soon, and no one is negating his magic weapon (which could be a big problem if you're staking everything on blade of realities and come upon a Talisman of Saphery/ Chaos Runeshield, etc.)

Something that concerns me besides the invincible dark elf:

Skulltaker on a Juggernaut-towed chariot comes in at exactly 300 points. 5+ killing blow that works on a Slann or stegadon, WS9, impact hits... Heck, even the mount has killing blow.

Only problem with relying on poisoned attacks, is you're still having to deal with armor saves.

Playing around, I kinda like Bane of Revered Tzunki, Enchanted Shield and Bane Head on a cold one.
Str6 attacks with no armor save, so you just need to get past toughness and ward saves.
On the downside, you have no ward save yourself, but a -1AS.
