Well, SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN MOVIE (AND REALLY SHOULD GO WATCH IT NOW), he dies, yes, but he accomplishes overthrowing the emperor of Rome from the position of gladiator and slave.

I.E. Despite MANY obstacles he still achieves his goal.

How about "No matter how many barriers are between you and your goal, there is nothing you cannot overcome with integrity and determination."
