So i was reviewing the Magic Banners provided by the book looking for something a little different to put on my Temple Guard bunker unit (well not really a bunker) and spied the Skavenpelt Banner.

So what does the Forum think would this banner on a (horded) unit of Temple Guard containing the Slann be worth the investment?

The only way to use the banner in that unit is to give it to a skink chief (only one that can use it). That makes him a huge target for any unit you face. Granted, you can protect him some using Lore of Life. But he will still be very squishy.

Also while the whole unit would gain frenzy, the skink shief has a longer charge range,
and could be forced to charge out of the unit on a sucidaly long charge against a clever oponent.

Good point, N810.

I hadn't thought of that.

Nope. That was true in 7th, but not in 8th edition. A unit with one or more frenzied models may be forced to charge, but the character would never be forced to charge out.

Since the skink's movement is 6, wouldn't that increase his range to potentially make the skink's charge pass where the TG would fail?

Just wondering.

huh... well thats new...
guess I have to re-read the frenzy section.

A Skink Chief BSB on a Horned One could be a little more hardwearing (armor save 3+), Causes Fear, and would have a footprint that fits within a Temple Guard block. The FAQ on Horned Ones is open to multiple interpretations so not everyone would be okay with letting you do that combo.

I don't think this is really anything to worry about with a Ld 10 CB with a re-roll, even if it could happen.
