I've looked over the rules and some other threads about army list building, and here's my idea for a sort-of "all comers" 1000 point list.

Lords:
Saurus Oldblood
• Sword of Bloodshed
• Enchanted Shield
• Armour of Fortune

Heroes:
Skink Priest
• Dispel Scroll
• Blood Statuette of Spite

Core:
15 Saurus Warriors
• Musician
• Standard Bearer

15 Saurus Warriors
• Musician
• Standard Bearer

10 Skink Skirmishers

10 Skink Skirmishers

Special:
5 Chameleon Skinks

Rare:
Salamander Hunting Pack

Grand Total: 965

This leaves me with 35 points leftover to do something with, but I cannot think of what to do with them. I don't want them to just go to waste.

I'll gladly appreciate and comments, criticisms, critique, ideas, musings, thoughts, or anything else of the like.

Hey Ceets

First off I like the dark red font. It looks neat. It is, however, a little hard to read. Perhaps a brighter shade of red next time? ;)

On to the list.

I normally don't see a pimped Old Blood in a battle this size. He is worth a quarter of the army. Having said that, 8 magical WS 6 attacks sure will help turn combat rez in your favour. So I say give it a try. As for the magical armor and magical shield, first off since per our codex the shield is still 15 points, you're over the limit of 100 pts. Second, and I'm not completely sure on this one, I believe you can't have both magical armor and magical shield...someone correct me please if I'm wrong.

The Shaman is fine. If you're re-arranging the list and need points, take out the Blood Statue

The two blocks of Saurus...hmm. I think if you're using the pimped Old Blood, take only one block of Saurus and use them as an "Old Blood Delivery system". Then replace the second block of Saurus with 5 plain CoC. The latter will give you more flexibility on the field.

5 Chameleon SKinks are good, 6 would be better

Sally is good too.

Be interesting to hear how your Old Blood turns out in battle

Cheers

Without the Codex in front of me, I can't give you precise info (also I've only just come back to the game, so my tactical advice might be a bit lame).

35 points = wizard lvl upgrade on the priest
or 5 extra skirmishers, distributed between the two skirmishing units
or 4 extra skirmishers, plus the extra handler for the sally

You might want to consider a champion with the saurus unit: he could accept challenges if you want the Old Blood to be free to pick his targets.
