Hey guys,
so I will play my first real AoS game in a week and we play a 4v3 capture the hill some kind of that. I am allied with an undead (50 skeletons meatshield), stormcast eternals (some quality troops and range fire) and sylvaneth (with drycha and kurnos hunters with bow i think).
We play against skaven, and two types of chaos one is khorne with deamons.
In our Team we all get 750 points each to spent and we have to pick 1 Battleline, max 4 Heroes, max 2 behemoth and max 2 artillery. Now since my Stormcast allie has 70 points left over that he can´t really use properly I am kind of able to get more than 750 points.
Here is my list and what I think would be cool.
To fit the undead theme being protected by a horde of skeletons I want to go with Lord Kroak.
Hero:
- Lord Kroak, General, Artefakt: Inscandescent Rectices, Great Rememberer (450 p.)
- Astrolith Bearer (160 p.)
Skink Starpriest (80 p.)
Battleline:
- 10 Skinks
Endless Spells:
(here I am indecisive which one of them)
-a) Balewind Vortex (40 p.)
-b) Chronomantic Cogs (60 p.)
a) 790 p. b) 810 p.
Now my thoughts:
Because I played Lizardmen in 6th, 7th and 8th Edition I have acces to a lot of stuff and my goal is to get a summoning style going while hiding behind my undead horde allie and rely on my flank sylvaneth and stormcast to hold the line a few turns.
With Lord Kroak as my General, the Chronomantic Cogs casted by a skink starpriest and the astrolith bearer I have acces to 16+d3 CCP per turn which gives me the chance of an EotG in turn one. And from there I got the chance of 20 skinks, 3 terradons or 10 saurus and other sweet stuff. I guess you know this shit =)
And if I don´t get turn one EotG I can summon eavry beast and some skinks in turn two which is also a good thing to do I guess .
But I don´t know if it´s too cheesy to take 60 of the 70 left over points for the Chronomantic Cogs and if I maybe should pick the Vortex instead. It gives me + range on my damage casts if I need them. Together with the Astrolith Bearer I got 24" Range on Celestrial Deliverance which could come handy if I decide to cast and rather do damage instead of summoning and bringing bodys to the field.
The big problem with the Vortex is that I can´t let it be cast by the skink starpriest so I have to use one of Lord Kroaks four castattempts to get the vortex going on him. Which leaves me to 13+d3 CCP in the first turn. So no EotG in turn one for this build and I am not quite sure if the EotG is still worth it to be summoned in the second or third turn. So I also could change the starpriest against some more skinks maybe.
Well that´s roughly my thoughts about the whole list. Sounds kind of interesting to come into a 4v3 Battle with just 13 models and then start to summon to support the allies and secure the supplies
Give me your honest opinion on the whole thing please, every input is needed. Maybe I am getting some rules wrong and the whole thing doesn´t even work that way?
Thanks in advance for your time and have a nice weekend.
