8th Ed. First 1000p list

New to the game of warhammer. And this is just a list trying to figure out what to buy.
So feel free to correct and enlighten me how to make it =)


General: Scar vet, gw, light armour

skink priest, plaque of tepok

40x warriors, standard.

20x skinks with 2x Kroxigor

The warriors go horde fore a good hard hitting anvil. skink and krox will act as hammer. salamanders run around and make some noise =).

Thinking of taking away one salamander, 2 warriors and 4 skinks to get a skink chief bsb and some room to boost the general.
Any suggestions?

- Each salamander should have an extra skink handler (comes in the blister pack, so no worries about having to buy an extra)

- 25 or 30 Saurus blocks are enough for 1k

- Skinks w/ kroxigor should have a standard bearer

- Either skirmishers or javelins x10

- 5 Chameleons are a good buy as well

This should make your list better, as well as giving you a well balanced pool to pull from

Dispel scroll is IMO better. A level 1 isn't going to get off more than one spell a round so you're better off stopping the other guys wizard for a round.

40x warriors, standard.
Pretty big unit for a 1000 pts. I agree with DOT, shrink these guys down to free up points for other goodies.

20x skinks with 2x Kroxigor
I love Skrox units, but is does need a banner and musician.

Once again DOT speaks truth. Extra handlers are very handy.

Nice list but a few suggestions. Horde is not the way to go with Saurus. With no BSB you want to maintain ranks for steadfast as Ld 8 Coldblood is great, but not after combat res. of -3 or -4. In a bus formation the Saurus will be a better anvil.

Do not go to the Dark Side! Skink Chief BSBs are Garbage! T3 W2 and a max AS of 5+/6++ if you take a banner. Bleah! You would be better off making your Scar vet a BSB and your Priest the General.

Dog On Todd's suggestions are also very good. Chameleons and Skirmishers rock at 1000 pts.
