Just starting the hobby (played a little 40k but i really like fantisy better). I try to save money where i can with the hobby. Back on topic. I want to know what are you guys favorite model and unit for rules, fluff, looks, and anything else...
 
My two favourite models in the army are the new stegadon, and the carnosaur. Both are what got me into the LM in the first place, I just think they are fantastic models. Slann are also pretty cool, but I am not quite as fond of their model.
 
My favourite units are the humble saurus warriors and the skink chief models. I think the chiefs are well crafted and offer some great painting opportunities.
 
just started my lizardmen

but I love the skinkies. fun to paint. vibrant looking. 'fast' looking. and move 6 skirmishers with poison. ^^

yet to get anything else though =D
 
Favourite fantasy model or LM model?

LM model is:
Chakax, just love it... For the looks
Stegadon... For the rules
SAURUS!... For the fluff! *bite*

Fantasy model overall:
Lets say like this put a glaive on it and any model will do... Both looks, fluff and rules... Just the glaive...
Or a double-sword... Most of my conversions feature one of these two... As long as they're combat orientated models...

I like all lizardmen for the fluff and style. I really enjoy big monsters, and what monsters are cooler than dinosaurs? I remember having some wierd scifi dinosaur riding toys as a kid and they were my all time favorites (well, after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of course).

My favorite models are the Stegadons and Temple Guard. Soooo much detail in each, tons of awesome adornment and they have a real bad-@#$ vibe. It helps that the Stegadons are great in battle as well, I try to bring one with me in every battle. And Temple Guard are just beautiful models. Intricate detail, thick and muscular structure and fluff wise I love them. They seem more than just 'bodyguards' to me. They are devoted in an almost holy way to their Slann, without the annoying zealot crap of humans. Cold blooded is simply superior to warm blooded. :D

Also worthy of mention is the Carnosaur model. Wow... just... wow. Check out some of the paint jobs here in the forums:

The toys you speak of were probably Dino-Riders. Loved those guys. Harness the power!

Yeah, the Stegadon, new Temple Guard, and Saurus Warriors are some of the best figs I think GW has ever done. Triceratopses with ballistas? Raptors with swords? Incan Raptors with obsidian halbreds?

Yeeeeeeeeeeees.

Couldn't agree more, although I started back when we had the classic Stegadon. Unlike a lot of people, there are very few models that I don't absolutely love in the Lizardmen range. The only one I can think of right now is our new BSB.
 
Sure, who could not love a giant carnivorous dinosaur that is ridden by a smaller carnivorous dinosaur?

But my favourite models still are.... SKINKS! Yea you heard it. They are like an intelligent Version of goblins. Ans i had the best moments with them. MAybe that is because you don't expect them to do much, and when they do something it is funny because it is so unexpected. And they are really good at killing high toughness stuff. I will alway remember when my chameleons killed the griffin of karl franz in the first turn and how the emperor hat to foot-slog behind his knights, not seeing a battle for the whole game... ah the memories
 
i gotta go for the slann i love his rules i love the backstory of a big fat frog that controls the destiny of the world and you gotta love a giant toad that goes to battle and inspires his troops just by being there just great stuff
 
I got into lizardmen because of the awesome new cold ones!
Oh wait...

Or it might have been the fluff, the slann and as I took a more in-depth look, almost everything about the army!
 
The main reason I got in was the backstory, after all, they are Aztec oriented!
And what could be more fun then a warlike, blood sacrificing nation? An awesome REPTILIAN warlike blood sacrificing nation!!!
Apart from that, my favorite models are definitely Kroxigors, the old models I have, not the new ones.
I also adore the chameleon skinks, they are pretty cool, and the saurus warriors of course, some of the best infantry there is.
aside from the usual troops, I love the Big, fat, bloated slann, they are pretty amazing to my opinion.
 
my two all time favorite models of the Lizardmen are the Slann Mage-Priest and Kroq Gar and his Carnosaur.

the fluff behind the slann is just so powerful, it makes me wish i could destroy an entire civilization with the flick of a finger >.> well maybe not that so much but hes still incredible. Besides they're arguably the strongest wizards in the entire warhammer game! for a magic fanatic like me thats a huge bonus.

The Kroq Gor model is just amazing. idk if id ever play a game with him, but i would certainly buy the model just to look at it
 
I love Chakax for his sculpt, when I got him I couldn't believe how big and complicated he was for a $15 blister. Can't wait to paint him!
The new Temple Guard models are great as well.

For fluff, you can't get better than Lord Kroak and Oxyotl.
Surviving and escaping the realm of Chaos? That's pretty hard-core.

Rules-wise, I have to go for some of my TK friends, the Tomb Scorpion(MR(1), Killing Blow, Poisoned Attacks), Ushabti(S6, Ld10!), and Khalida(5 attacks in the magic phase(can't be dispelled), and 5 in close combat, and I9, always strikes first, and poisoned attacks that do D3 wounds).
 
I have 2, and both of them are amazing....I have always been obsessed with stealth and long-range hit and runs, so one of them is skinks- they are aquatic lizards that shoot blowpipes, and have won me games where it looked like I would definitely loose.

and the other one is temple guard, they weren't worth it last edition but now they are the greatest bodyguards I've ever seen, 2+ armour save, 4 ws, 2 I, 2 A etc......i've seen 10 of these guys send a unit of 28 plague monks packing....and not on the charge.
 
all around skinks are my favorite, but if i could, and it sounds awesome in the fluff too, have a massive terradon unit like the one mentioned that surrounds itza. i can only dream of it. :) :) :) (SO F****** EXPENSIVE! :rage: :rage: :rage: )
