Hello!

As you might know, I've played with Slann+TG bunker quite a lot during 8th edition, and even during 7th edition. It has become pretty dull to play (finally!). and I am trying to build a "solo" slann list.

Slann
bsb, Banner of +1M
Ethereal, all spells, cogitation, Reroll miscast
Channeling Staff
Dragonbane gem
Plaque of Protection

Scar veteran
Halberd
Armour of 5+ ward
Venom of the fireflyfrog

Core:

38x Saurus warriors
Full Command

38x Saurus warriors
Full Command

37x Skink Cohorts
Full Command
3x Kroxies

10x Skirmishers

10x Skirmishers

Special

8x Chameleon Skinks
8x Chameleon Skinks

3x Terradons

Rare:

2xSalamander Hunt packs
2 Extra handlers

I've been using LoLight lately with slann, and I like it, but I am open for suggestions considering slanns lore (other than LoLife :D )

Other suggestions, C&C are also wellcome!

The cap on movement is 10 inches. Due to the float rule, the slann can already move 10 inches. +1 movement is a waste for him. I'm mistaken, :depressed: I just looked for it. I cannot find it, but I thought I remember seeing it in the big rule book. Sorry guys!

At 2400 points you can take crown of command to make him stubborn and the banner of discipline for Ld. That will make him ld 10 stubborn with cold blooded. That is essentially the same as being unbreakable.

The only other change that I would make is to take at least 2 salamanders (with extra snacks). If you need to pull points, I would probably take them from one of the saurus units and then combine the saurus that are left into one unit. The saurus unit can be the anvil and the skrox can be the hammer.

Where does it say that slann has float-rule?

Gah, just noticed that my list is illegal (unit cant be more than 450pts), that's what you get when you do your lists after work :)

Edit: now the list is legal

just trying to find that myself, i have always ran my slann with a movement of 4 and a march of 8 where is the wording that says he can float 10"??

Took 2nd sallie and 2+ ranged ward for slann.

For tournament, slanns equipment are: Feedback scroll, banehead, Banner of swiftness, dargonbane gem. Need to drop couple saurus warriors in order to do that, but Feedback scroll+ banehead is just too borken combo to be used in casual games

Juuhaaha i too became wondering about Float rule you told. I couldnt find anywhere in rulebook such rule. I think slann still moves with his movement points he has. Atleast i have always played like so

Im still not sure do you need a divine plaque of protection. If you keep him within 3´from any unit he gets LOS and you dont have to use 30 pts for magic item. Ofc dragonbane gem is must anyway wichever you choose :)

Your list is interesting but i was thinking is it neccessary to play so big SW and Skrox blocks? 40 sounds like maniac.. unless you try to play them as horde? (10x4)

I would take max 30 SW if not playing as horde and i would take more skinks.. BeCause 30 SW can hold few turn almost againts anything and you hit them with 2 smaller (24x3?) Skrox team and try to flank him.

Big problem with Big blocks is that if you lose 1 big block you are running uphill rest of the fight. Smaller teams FTW :) but this is just my opinion.. Im used to encounter HUGE amount of Worst luck and worst case scenarios when i play.. God's of dices are not on my side.

But i think your list is quite good as it is Good number sallies, CS, good geared slann.. and so on. If you feel like you play well with huge blocks imo u should keep playing so :)

I looked for it to,but I was mistaken. I must have been thinking the slann had the hover rule. Sorry about that  .

Punupetteri: 8th edition is about big blocks, and beven if I'd drop some saurus warriors I cant figure out what do I want to add to my list

I like your list
my only sugestion is to add engine or at least one ancient stegadon
since the majority of ur enemies ll be infantry troops , a stuborn ,tough beast, with thunderstom is must.
Either for front charges on low str infantries or as a good flanker to more elite infanties.
Engine also confers more flexibitly to your list, plus the powers of engine itself (specialy the shield).Heavens is good lore, the signature spell is amazing, comet has lot % to come aswell, plus you got a mage +3 to dispell (u can risk roll a dispell with 1 dice + level of skink priest to interupt low casting spells without losing slan concetration)
Also since you dont got cogitation add for sure the cupped hands ! is must on that combo. Can give you victory, specialy since u see first the miscast and than you decide if you ll send it.
I agree totaly with rest list.
Good job !

Im not sold on EotG, But I might add normal Stegadon to the list.

2399pts

Did this list for a campaing. Havent played a game with it yet, but it looks promising on a paper. It aint done with ETC comps, but it's easily fixed (combine sallies/ drop 1 sallie + couple skinks and taking Feedback scroll instead of cupped hands)
Multiple mounted scar vets seems like the way to go with ETC comped lizzies.

Any Ideas and thougts?
