Well it might be unnecessary but I didn't want to keep the other topic off-topic any more. (you know which one)

So about the EoTG I read the rules like the skink priest can't use his spells if he uses the engines powers.
Hence to this: In addition to cast any spells... bla bla bla.

look at the sentence it stands "In addition", meaning that he uses the engine instead of using his own powers.

So contribute with your interpretation and say why it is like that.

Or just clarify if I'm wrong or right. It's your choice.

I still do not see why you think he only gets to use the engine or cast his spells. In addition is exactly how it sounds (engine power)+(skink spells)=Magic phase. You use both, where do you get the impression you do not?

Addition means" in adding to". Or in warhammer language it means "plus " or "extra". IN think you are bit confused
Hence it even tot the word "add" in addition.

Addition is additive, hence addition. It is not mutually exclusive, meaning you can do A AND B, not A or B.

Yeah I can't see where the confusion is... He can cast spells, and in addition to that he can use the engine. Ok so he can use spells and the engine. I am sure there are several other examples of simlar wording throughout the other books.

In addition usually means "furthermore," or "also." In lieu of means you have to choose one or the other.

I am jealous! I wish I was tought the language of my origin. =) I think you all do remarkably well. It certainly isnt easy to interpret the Warhammer rules in English half the time let alone trying to do it if it was my second language.

I am just curious though. I wont how many rules people get wrong due to the English barrier and the language being difficult as it is.

Well, your right the language can get confusing from time to time, but I think it depends a lot from person 2 person and their english skills(age, e.c.).. In Norway we learn english from when we are 7 years or so, but I know that isn't the case all over the world.. Anyway, I often use my dictionary if needed be
