Dr Zephy's painting clinic

Hi everyone! thanks for the nice comments :)

I finished my warchanter for my orks army yesterday. The army being sports themed, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give him pompoms and make him into a Warcheerleader!

I spent a lot of time on the skin cause its not only the star of the model but I wanted to up my skin game as well and I'm quite happy with the result.
The fur on the pom-poms is a bit lacking tho so I guess that'll be be my next exercise ^_^ (looking at you gore gruntas)
Enjoy!

Hi! Great work here, can I ask how you did the Astrolith bearer banner using green stuff? I tried adding symbols and carving out my own from scratch using green stuff but just couldn't get it to shape in the right way at all!

It was a while ago, but iirc I covered the front in a thin grin stuff layer, used a circled object (like the tubes that contain brushes) to do a divide between first and second circle. Then I did the divide between all the segments before trying to copy the symbols on the official astro banner. it wasnt too complicated. I just used my sculpting tools or a pen. I replaced the ones that were too complicated with simpler designs

Thanks for the response! My skills with green stuff are clearly not to up that standard but ill try add symbols individually if I can to my circle

The Astrolith is very cool. Eventually I want to make a BSB holding one based on the wretched Dial of the Old Ones they have in Total War. I'm definitely going to re-read this thread when it comes to it.

Hi everyone!

I finished the gore gruntas from my IJ SCB and made them in the same sports theme as the other units, trying to go for a speedy version of the work I did on the warchanter.

I was unsure how to convert these guys initialy. I thought about having them being some sort of polo players but it wouldnt go well with the sport the team is playing.
In the end I went for some light conversion with the heads, going for something that is close to the black ork blood bowl team and I think it turned out pretty good, specially on the leader

Had a ton of fun with the bases, going for a rampaging through the city kinda vibe. (love the result on the wall being live destroyed)
Hope you like 'em

Wow wow wow! These are fantastic.
Really cool paint scheme and the bases are the cherry on top. Great job! :)

Great job on those Gor-Gruntas, I love the converted heads/facemasks.
This is an awesome army.

Do you have a teampicture?

Hi guys! thanks for the comments on the orks ^_^ !
It's back to the Seraphon this time around as I've finished my bastiladon!
I tried to mess around with some free hand on the scales which I think turned out pretty good.
Also had a ton of fun with the base as I attempted to make some water for the first time.

Enjoy!
ps: the toad is called Trevor
