Played a game and found myself really just wanted more warriors. They do a shocking amount of damage but still die pretty easily.

So why not just take more?

Koatls claw

Slann with grubs
Starseer
Oldblood general with aetherquartz
Sunblood with eviscerating blade

5x20 saurus
1x10 saurus
Geminids
Double sunclaw

The basic idea would be to have 2 "waves." Take the punch with a front line of units, counter punch with the second line. Ton of command point generation.

Geminids and comets call will be okay for pinging characters and 20 saurus (if they get first activation) trades well with literally anything, even without starpriest buffs.

Only issue is getting stretched too thin and not being I'm range of buffs but all the really necessary buffs are at least wholly within 18 which should help a bit.

Could also replace geminids for cogs if movement is an issue.

I'd like to take this build to tournaments but not sure if it's a little too one dimensional. Thoughts?

Oh, I really like this list.

I think DoT will give you the biggest headache. Even though you are 4 drops they will still out drop you. The good news is you have enough bodies to survive their shooting. Make sure you are creating large enough zones that flamers can't snipe off your Starseer and Oldblood.

The other hard match ups will be Fyreslayers where you want to reach their supporting heroes and OBR where you need to reach their Harvesters and Wizards. Even then you should have enough rend to still kill stuff.

I do like the list, and the only thing I might change would be where you put the brooch. Oldblood is going to be further up and in more dangerous positons. The Starseer could be a great platform, as he's already generating CP sometimes.

Totally hear you, I basically had the same concerns. I felt like a mixture of comet and geminids will do an ok job pressuring characters and the sheer just number of attacks/wounds would pick up the slack.

I'm gonna test it out and see but I've been really impressed with the amount of damage a unit of 20 can do.

Love this idea!

You inspired me. I plan to try out a Sunclaw and Firelance dual battalion list in a couple weeks. It might be my main Saurus army. Too bad the knight's coldones are so ugly :(
