9th Age Discussion of OpenHammer (ETC) and Ninth Age (Swedish Comp)

Being able to take a super cowboy actually sounds like fun. Totally worth losing a point in strength and 1 wound.
The carno cowboy is far more effective; the only question is that is he a little too effective.

Of course most of our stuff lies in the future, mayhaps the far future even, like hover boards and Jaws 6 in 3D.
I'm still very eager to see what they come up with, their changes to us has just been slightly dull. Not necessarily bad, it's just not really something that would lure me in from the street, I'm just saying :P

Someone should seriously playtest the new changes so far from our perspective. Maybe we could understand a little more, about what is change in the game mechanic once the dice are rolling. :D

Well this might be a good change and all, but I feel that it is kind of silly in a way, I mean, just look at the models and ask yourself: Is that Dragon bigger than the Carnosaur? I can answer that question for you: NO!, so why is the Carnosaur less of a monster than a Dragon? That I do not understand at all.

Again it might be a good rule, but I cannot fully accept it.

Personnaly I think that ppl should calm down a bit over nerfs and buffs. Even if LM gets nerfed in general, if other factions that were stronger got nerfed harder....
What I mean is, I don't care about nerfs too much aslong as when we playtest this thing or rather the end resulr is that we have a far more balanced game and all factions can win from eachother unlike now where alot of games are going to be pretty one sided before even putting the army lists together (manner of speaking). And ofcourse the magic that needed to be adjusted wich it looks like they did a pretty decent job of ( but playtesting will show us if it is enough). Also cannons vs monsters was one of the very big points and it will be adressed probably. And lastsly at the top of my head deathstars wich have been adjusted for a good part.
So the balance of the game and the big OP stuff that ruins the game have to be adjusted and they are doing exactly that.

Meh.. There's plenty of stuff like that in the game that doesn't make sense anyway. I can live with one more weirdness.

That is true, we are hopefully aiming for a better balanced game. So far we have just been slightly more hurt, than others, depending on how you view things.
The problem is that without something exciting to lure people in, like interesting new ways of exploiting previously unused units. You won't see the community for this game grow.

Balance is one thing, but some people just like an excuse to play with their cool dolls ;)

Off topic here and I'm not going to make this about MC for LM, but have these guys mentioned anything about getting in contact with a miniture making company? So if there were new models they would add, they could be bought somewheres?

A lot of that would come when they're updating the ABs. Currently it's obviously a bit of hit and miss in terms of interesting things. For instance sneak peak 3 was very exciting for me where sneak peak 4 had me a bit concerned. Mean while the previous change of parry = 5+ was very welcomed and certainly made Saurus Warriors more durable, while others who rely on knights and great weapon units might not have enjoyed it.

Once the AB updates are rolling we'll truly see the nerfs and whether or not we should feel particularly "hit".

True. It's simply easier to be concerned and thinking the worse, when reading through the current changes. I guess because, in my mind, I expect something different then what, is revealing itself now.

I haven't seen the books yet, they are not done with even the core rules and nothing is said in stone.

I think they will be wise not to make direct approaches like that.
It would give GW a hefty foundation for filing for IP-Theft (I think)
"You are taking our product and making it about selling miniatures"

I am actually 3D sculping a little something something that is intended for Lizardry MC ;)

I feel the same way. It looks like their distinctions are pretty arbitrary. I would have preferred a more uniform approach.

Another sculptor in our midst... looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Any idea on when it might be ready?

Just started out, but caught on quite quick.
I modeled the front of the beast so far, and having problems with the anatomy of its behind legs and conjunction between upper and lower body...but its getting there!

ITS COMING!

How long have you been practicing digital sculpting to become that proficient?
