8th Ed. Dark elves

I've decided to buy a dark elves army for my girl friend.

My initial thought was to buy the warhost of naggaroth pack, but I am very clueless about the viability of the troops that is included in this box.

The Dark Elves Warhost of Naggaroth contains 1 Black Ark Fleetmaster; 1 Scourgerunner Chariot; 1 box of Cold One Knights; 2 boxes of Dreadspears; 2 boxes of Corsairs; and 3 Dark Elves Transfer sheets which can be used to add markings and heraldry.

Are these good troop choices? Or should i buy seperate boxes of something else?

They are lousy troop choices in the box set. If she wants to be competitive at all don't buy that.

Core choices that are great:

Dark Riders
Witch Elves

The Corsairs aren't bad in that set but the rest are lousy. All the swords/spears seem to be good at are forming a bunker for a Sorceress, but, she is even better on dark steed with Dark Riders or Warlocks.

Alright, thanks a lot for the input, Ill make a better plan before investing I think, maybe I should buy the book first, and then make some plans!

She has no plans to be competitive in the slightest, but I have major plans in borrowing the army!
