8th Ed. Cold one bus question

ive been out of warhammer for a few months and ive come back to the fourm to see alot of people talking about the cold one bus. am i over thinking it or is it just a handful of characters in with a huge group of cold ones with varius magic items? can someone explain to the guy who showed up late whats going on?

then i was over thinking it... thank you. i was sitting there like why have 3 characters in a unit and then i remembered oh wait they're scar-vets and an old blood. thanks again
