I was comparing the old war scrolls to the new ones I noticed that the Saurus warriors and Saurus knights got a +1 save in AoS2 but both the Oldblood on Carnosaurs and ScarVet on Carnosaurs did not?

Yep, both of them are locked with meh 4+s. If you can get them to reroll saves of one they become more reliable, but it’s not as good as we would like.

I too was sad. I thought the ScV might get +1 save for his shield. But even the Cold One version did get an increase to saves.

the shields are not mentioned on any warscroll outside of normal skinks. even the SB whose WHOLE THING is the BIG ASS SHIELD has no mention of it lol

I was really hoping for the Sunblood to ignore rend :D Ahhh, what could have been.

I propose that we ask GW why the Old blood on foot and Scar-Vat on cold one both got an increased save but the models on the Carnosaurs did not get this increased save.

I suppose it's because they don't want to have carnosaurs to have save 3+ rerolling 1s and -1 to be hit, tnx to spells / artefatcs.
I don't see why not, given the amount of resources you have to spend on it while monstrosity as VLoZD exist, but that was probably the reasoning.

Yeah it is kinda funny, because a Carnosaur is nowhere as dangerous as a Terrorgeist or even a Maw Krusha. Granted there is a significant difference in prices, but it is still miles off.

Yet it is apparently perfectly fine to have a Stegadon with Skink Chief be super tanky.

With the right buffs, a carnosaur can take down a maw krusha (mostly sword of judgement and rerolling ones to hit) without to much difficulty. Also expect those two critters to get nerfed in GHB 2020

Without having done the math, I highly doubt that. But even then, mathhammer only gets you so far. The MK has a 24"+ charge as threat range so it will likely get the jump, and in Big Waagh the beast alone will kill the Carnosaur on average.

You can also use a doppelgänger to force them to not be able to attack the maw krusha (just make sure they aren’t that player and refuse to accept it). This invalidates the carnosaur as a target as they cannot attack it. Also in coalesced a carnosaur has a pretty good chance of surviving a maw krusha charge unless it’s on 50 waagh points or some crap.

also to note is you can get sword of judgement to activate on a 4+ :D Statistically that means your getting 3d6 mortal wounds off which leaves the maw krusha relatively open for the carnosaur to finish it off.

It's doable, but to kill a MK our carnosaur need some serious buffs…

once again, our warcrolls cannot stand by themselves (in contrast to the ones of other armies). We'll need ALWAYS synergies.

Sacred asterism, an artifact such as sword of judgement or rend artifact like dimensional blade or blade of realities, rerolling ones and that could do it. Honestly even doing a good chunk of damage to a maw krusha means the carnosaur is earning back it’s points
