Tutorial Caleb's Seraphon Strategy Videos

we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one brother. summoning is "effectively" dead for us. you actually say exactly what I say, but your assessment is different lol. by going from viable strategy to an afterthought that's just kinda added on, it became comparatively dead. you cannot win a competitive level game with an all in summoning strategy anymore, and that's what makes it dead IMO.

And I'd disagree with your point. Just because it can't be the entirety of your strategy, doesn't mean it's dead. It's simply another useful tool in the toolbox, rather than being the only thing you need to worry about. There's a huge space between "dead" and "broken" and our new summoning falls in there... somewhere. Summoning adds a ton of flexibility and movement to starborne, and is a big part of the reason why starborne is just the more competitive side of seraphon.

The summoning in our last book was slaanesh levels of obnoxious and i'm glad they've toned it down. I think everything being d3 is too random, but I don't hate the general reduction in points generation.

If I had to compare our summoning to another army I'd say it's probably around the Nurgle or Khorne level. Not busted like Slaanesh was, but not utterly worthless in every way, either. It's just "fine".

The problem is that it is either skinks or salamanders. Other investments are not worth it most of the time.

Summoning is one of the examples of something that seems to have happened several times with the new battletome, where something was too powerful in the previous one, so they decided to tone down it's power in two ways, when probably one of them would have been sufficient.

Just curious but have you actually played any game on the table/TTS yet? Or are you just basing this off reading rules in our book?

I have actually played multiple games with a list generating 5D3 CCP per turn and it feels very much alive. As @Putzfrau said, summoning isnt on the same level as the old book (thank god), but that doesnt mean it is a meaingless mechanic at all.

I have been playing at least 2 games a week, and while I do tend towards coalesced I have played multiple games with starborne.

if your comment was truly "just curious" you should have refrained from the follow up of "I have actually". it comes off as incredibly condescending and feels like an attack.

I was legit just curious, Im not trying to attack you. I just feel like there are a ton of "keyboard warriors" on the internet that throw around comments without actually having anything to back up their claims beyond "feelings" or because they read something, somewhere. Having actually played games give those claims value instead of being meaingless.

I would think given our history of "tete 'a tete's" you would have realized by now I am no keyboard warrior lol. I understand you may not have been attempting to attack anyone, which is why I specifically refrained from making the accusation and instead attempted to explain the perception of your commentary.

A Troglodon may look scary, but its best use doesn't come from the giant dinosaur! The Trogoldon was born and bred to be the Arcane Vassal of the Slanns.

Definitely worth taking if you're running Skinks. Just try and keep him away from turn 1 shooting, lol!

Do you field just a Solo Kroak or how much of the support pieces do you bring to maximize Lord Kroak on the battlefield of Age of Sigmar?

Seraphon Strategy - BASTILADON - Getting the most DAMAGE from Dino Space Lasers!

Pew Pew Pew goes the Dinosaur Space laser! My preferred loadout is: 2 Bastiladons in Thunderlizards with a Bound Burning Head. That gets me about 20 dmg vs 4+ save or 28 dmg vs Chaos Demons!!

Ive run the same but with a skink priest general to give a + 1 to hit for free

This is why Thunder Lizards is my favorite constellation. Our dinosaurs have very good shooting and melee damage output.
