To get me out of my routine of buying a whole army, building it all at once then only painting half of it, I've decided to do it in blocks of 500 points. This may seem weird in that I should just do unit by unit but I'm planning to make a back story for the whole army, starting out as a patrol party and growing from there to a major defence force. At the end I think it's going to work really well.
Each block of 500 points is scheduled to be completed within a fortnight with the first fortnight beginning 20/02/09. At the end of the blog I'll be looking to have a tournament ready battle force of 2250 points. Obviously, some fortnights are going to have a bit over or under 500 points but who's caring about this? As long as I have the 2250 points by the end all is well.
To document and record my progress I've started a blog (well 2 blogs). The first one is the "Army Diary" which will record the modeling, painting and conversions (likely to be no conversions) as I build 500 point blocks by 500 point blocks. The second will be the fluff side, where I'll add the background story to the army. These can be found at:

Tza'Inzi, Saurus Scar-Veteran
Light armour, Shield, Cold One, Scimitar of the Sun Resplendent
163 points
Total: 495 points
