Lets not start this again.
=> Don't worry, that was not my intent (as should have been clear from both saying there is debate and emphasizing "may") nor will I debate it should it come up here. Had I wanted to make my statement more debate-inspiring, I would have chosen to put it something like "The S10 attack only works against rear attackers. Be sure to know the rule."
That's not, however, what I did nor was it my intention.
The OP was looking for advice on how to spend the points. The Bastiladon has come up a lot. I was merely trying to make the OP aware that if he opts to go down this path and does so due to the S10 Attack, he should be aware that he may get some resistance. He should just know the pros and cons of his choice, and potential mid-game disagreement over this Attack is one of the cons.

We play lizard friendly faq in my hood. Str 10 always. Pf for all ranks. Korak and engine full bubble
=> The following is a general comment and not personal toward Eladmir.
If I ever ran a forum, I would require that all sigblocks contain one of two statements:
1) All games played by standard rules.
or
2) This is a list of the ways in which we have changed the game - X, Y, Z....
This comes up often on all forums I have read. You see someone giving advice or talking about their success. You are encouraged by it and try it. It doesn't work for you. You wonder why and press the advice-giver for detail only to find out that he or she is playing with very important rules differences.
It's just really frustrating. I mean, just the PF and Engine rules would have
majorly huge impact on games. Big time. Right now my opponents don't really care at all about the Engine's D6 S4 hits on one unit (or even sometimes a whole 2 units!). Oooo, scarey. Not. If, however, I could pin units in place with my combat troops, slide the Ancient in the center of the battleground, and toss 4+ dice at the engine, knowing it would hit
every unit in range, including those in combat...wow. Game changer. It would alter many of my in-game tactical choices, change my power dice allocation, and likely draw out lots of dispel dice. Pretty big change.
PF in all ranks would totally push me into using a horde of spear-armed Saurus instead of a block of 6-wide hw+sh. In fact, combined with the Engine rule above, it would probably mean an almost entirely different army configuration for me. I'd go with 2 Ancients and 2 hordes. Ancients make up for parry. Hordes fight really well and hold things in place for the Burning Alignment.
EDIT: Oh man, could you imagine how good a Troglodon might be in these rules?
Man, Eladmir, you've got me jealous of your group!
Note that I am not saying Eladmir, or anyone else, is wrong to change the game (not my cup of tea, clearly, but whatevs). I'm just saying it's counter to productive discussion when the advice giver and receiver are not aware that they are not playing the game by a common set of rules. It's pretty fundamental stuff when it comes to discussion/analysis to make sure both sides are talking about the same thing.
